Leccinum scabrum, commonly known as the Brown Birch Bolete, is widely considered a very good, edible mushroom. It has a classic, pleasant mushroom taste that is not too overpowering. This makes it incredibly versatile in the kitchen, as it absorbs the flavors of herbs, garlic, and butter beautifully.
