I hope you are feeling well. Today I bring you an anime that I started watching a few weeks ago and I liked it a lot. It has an air and a concept similar to Tokyo Revengers, but without the complicated time travel and a very different approach, so, they only have in common the fights.

This anime called **Wind Breaker** combines action, youth drama (maybe some of the characters' stories make them sentimental), comedy and street-style ferocity, where the fights are to the death and the cult of strength dominates the minds of young people and destroys everything... Or it can become the salvation of more than one of them.
The story takes us to **Furin High School**, located in an urban neighbourhood inspired by Japanese cities like Tokyo and Osaka, called Makochi. This city is a scourge of gang conflict, where the residents are terrorised by youth gangs from other cities, ruining and tormenting the lives of the residents. Tired of the constant terror infused by the gangs, **Hajime Umemiya**, a student of Furin High School, one of the many young people marginalized by the neighbourhood, decides to find a purpose and give one to the other students of the high school and that is to "Protect the neighbourhood", This is how Hajime together with his best friends, called the Four Heavenly Kings, create and structure the Wind Breaker gang, where force is not used as a means to subdue and inflict terror, but to protect the community and give another purpose to the use of force.

This is how the story introduces us to our protagonist **Haruka Sakura**, a young man who has been discriminated all his life because of his appearance, so, to avoid contempt and mistreatment, he decides to dedicate his life to fight against whoever confronts him. Distrustful and lonely, he arrived at Furin High School, known for its troubled youth and nationally dismal grades, to become the strongest. But soon, he discovers that he is not only accepted by the people and seen as a guardian, but that here strength is not used to dominate, but to protect. Motivated by this ideal, Haruka joins the Wind Breaker, where he will make friends and comrades he knows he could trust with his life, but also enemies who will do anything to bring him, Hajime and everything the Wind Breaker stands for down.

Furin High School, chaotic and marginalised, but with great potential to change and transform itself into something worth admiring, reflects the youth who study there, who despite their appearances and attitudes are not evil young people out to harm others.
One thing I really like is that it delves deeply into the issue of youth and delinquency and how young people belonging to this "lifestyle" are constantly stigmatised. Especially those who are born and grow up in areas where violence is recurrent and the youth who live there are marginalised just by their appearance.

Anime also opens the door to the debate of what is strength? This is constantly seen in the way each gang is handled and reflected in the actions of its members. While Hajime cemented an ideal in his gang, where those who are strong must use this strength to protect those who cannot do so on their own, the other gangs present a deviation from this ideal, which is the antithesis of his own and therefore must be destroyed along with those who enact it. In addition, it touches on somewhat strong themes, not very recurrent in anime and even less so in this genre, which, of course, one would not expect to see in a "fighting" anime.
One thing I love about the anime is the design of the characters, both in appearance and personality. They are flashy, chaotic and unrestrained, but that doesn't mean they have no conscience or forget the principles of Wind Breaker, even for some, the gang's mission is what gives them a purpose and they fight to keep it, even if it costs them their lives.

Characters like Sakura, Hajime and Hayato among other characters are endearing and present very good backstories and as the episodes go on the story only evolves and the character development, which is quite a lot, increases.
The animation is of high quality and the fights are incredibly well executed. Although many compare it to Tokyo Revengers, the truth is that Wind Breaker leaves fiction aside (and I'm not just talking about time travel), and focuses on other types of conflicts, some of them deeply internal. Something I want to point out is that I usually watch anime in its original language, but the dubbing is too funny, too good, I can't stand some of the phrases or words that are thrown in, they kill me with laughter.

Espero que se encuentren bien. Hoy les traigo por recomendación un anime que empecé a ver hace unas semanas y me gustó bastante. Tiene un aire y un concepto parecido al de Tokyo Revengers, pero sin lo complicado de los viajes en el tiempo y un enfoque muy diferente, por lo que, solo tienen en común las peleas.

Este anime de nombre **Wind Breaker** combina acción, drama juvenil (puede que algunas historias de los personajes los pongan sentimentales), comedia y una ferocidad al estilo callejero, donde las peleas son a muerte y el culto a la fuerza domina la mente de los jóvenes y lo destroza todo… O puede convertirse en la salvación de más de uno.
La historia nos traslada a la **Preparatoria Furin**, ubicada en un barrio urbano inspirado en ciudades japonesas como Tokio y Osaka, llamado Makochi. Esta ciudad se encuentra como punto de azote de conflictos entre pandillas, donde los residentes son aterrorizados por pandillas juveniles provenientes de otras ciudades, que arruinaban y atormentaban la vida de los residentes. Cansado del constante terror infundido por las pandillas, **Hajime Umemiya** alumno de la preparatoria Furin, uno de los tantos jóvenes marginados por el vecindario, decide encontrar un propósito y darle uno a los demás alumnos de la preparatoria y ese es “Proteger el vecindario”, es así como Hajime junto con sus mejore amigos, denominados los Cuatro reyes celestiales, crean y estructuran la pandilla Wind Breaker, donde la fuerza no es usada como medio para someter e infundir terror, sino para proteger a la comunidad y darle otro propósito al uso de la fuerza.

Es así, como la historia nos presenta a nuestro protagonista **Haruka Sakura**, un joven discriminado toda la vida por su apariencia, por lo que, para evitar el desprecio y el maltrato, decide dedicar su vida a pelear contra quien se le enfrente. Desconfiado y solitario, llegó a la preparatoria Furin conocida por sus jóvenes problemáticos y pésimas calificaciones a nivel nacional, para convertirse en el más fuerte. Pero pronto, descubre que no solo es aceptado por el pueblo y visto como un guardián, sino que aquí la fuerza no es usada para dominar, sino para proteger. Motivado por este ideal, Haruka se une a la Wind Breaker, donde hará amigos y compañeros en los que sabe que podría confiar su vida, pero también enemigos que harán lo que sea para acabar con él, con Hajime y con todo lo que representa la Wind Breaker.

La preparatoria Furin, es caótica y marginalizada, pero con un gran potencial de cambio y de transformarse en algo que valga la pena admirar, refleja a la juventud que estudia ahí, quienes a pesar de sus apariencias y actitudes no son jóvenes malvados que busquen hacer daño a otros.
Algo que me gusta mucho, es que ahonda mucho, en el tema de la juventud y la delincuencia y en cómo los jóvenes pertenecientes a este “estilo de vida”, son constantemente estigmatizados. Sobre todo, aquellos que nacen y crecen en zonas donde la violencia es recurrente y la juventud que hace vida ahí, es marginada con solo ver su apariencia.

El anime también abre la puerta al debate de ¿qué es la fuerza? Esto es visto constantemente en la forma en que se maneja cada pandilla y reflejado en el actuar de sus integrantes. Si bien Hajime cimentó un ideal en su pandilla, donde quien es fuerte, debe usar esta fuerza para proteger a quienes no pueden hacerlo por sí solos, el resto de pandillas presenta una desviación de este ideal, que es la antítesis del suyo y que por ende debe ser destruido junto quienes lo promulgan. Además, de que toca temas algo fuertes, no muy recurrentes en el anime y menos de este género, que, por supuesto, uno no esperaría ver en un anime digamos de “peleas”.
Algo que me encanta del anime es el diseño de los personajes, tanto en apariencia como en personalidad. Son llamativos, caóticos y desenfrenados, pero no por eso, no tienen conciencia u olvidan los principios de la Wind Breaker, incluso para algunos, la misión de la pandilla es lo que les da un propósito y luchan por mantenerlo, aunque les cueste la vida.

Personajes como Sakura, Hajime y Hayato entre otros personajes son entrañables y presentan historias de trasfondo muy buenas y a medida que transcurren los episodios la historia solo hace más que evolucionar y el desarrollo de personajes, que es bastante, ir en aumento.
La animación es de alta calidad y las peleas son increíbles, muy bien ejecutadas. Aunque muchos la comparan con Tokyo Revengers, la verdad, es que Wind Breaker deja la ficción de lado (y no hablo solo por los viajes en el tiempo), además de que se centra en otro tipo de conflictos, algunos profundamente internos. Algo que quiero destacar, es que yo suelo ver los animes en su idioma original, pero el doblaje es demasiado gracioso, demasiado bueno, no puedo con algunas frases o palabras que se lanzan, me matan de risa.
