I don't swim in this pool, so I dunno. However, I ran across a video from Robert Breedlove interviewing Dr. Jack Kruse who does claim to know. While I don't think his entire claim - which is extensive, convoluted, and very different from the US history I learned in school - is entirely factual, his assertion of the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto isn't necessarily disproved by any part of that back story being speculative or wrong.
One thing his identification of SN does is explain why there is no activity on one of the largest fortunes in the world. I was previously unfamiliar with either of Kruse or Breedlove, but the buildup Dr. Kruse provides, the explanation for why SN is whom he claims it is, is an absolutely fascinating tale of intrigue and hidden history - whether it is all true or not.
Additionally the comment section is a gold mine of additional details, theories, refutations of the narrative, and assertions regarding the identity of SN. I don't provide this because I am confident it's true. I am relatively sure some of the tale isn't factually correct (although, as I said, that doesn't necessarily disprove or discount the identity of SN Dr. Kruse asserts). But It's ~50 minutes of fascinating alternative history going back before WWII, involves nuclear bombs, the mob, the Kennedy assassination, and much more. Whether Kruse actually believes what he says here or is just weaving a web of historical intrigue, anyone that has an interest in modern American history, BTC, or the origins of cryptography and cryptocurrency will probably find it one of the best spent hours in recent memory.
Enjoy!
