The Bible stated that God created man in his image and likeness, that's a figurative statement, because what is written in the Bible is that God is a spiritual being. John 4 vs 24.  The principle we must believe about God is that he's a spirit, when he said in Genesis "let us make man in our image and likeness" he wasn't talking about a physical likeness, he was talking about a spiritual likeness. He is a righteous God, he made us righteous also, as he is holy, he made man holy also. That's his likeness and how we were created.  God made man upright, righteous and holy, so when God said let us make man in our image and likeness, he meant as he is holy and righteous, he is going to create a righteous and holy man and that was the state of Adam when he was created.  God saw everything, including men , everything that he had made and behold it was very good in his sight. Man was made very good, perfect and righteous by God.
