Prelude Greeting to all, a new week had started and welcome back to another new post on Adapting to Modern where I look at how I crossed over from playing in Wild Battles till today focusing and getting more cards on Modern Battles, sharing with the community the struggles, the strategies and things I do to move towards playing in Modern. I am so glad that there is so many variations that come into the gameplay and with all the foundation cards coming in, more strategies are developed and definitely more different ways to lineup cards and capitalize on playing the ruleset to our advantage and all.

Rebellion Core Set Cards

Similar to the previous post for this series, we will begin discussing card from the Rebellion Core Set. Using a similar method when I reviewed the Soul Bound reward cards, I will be discussing about the growth of the cards and will give a simple review to whether or not investing into them will level up your game play or not. And let's continue our review and look at 2 common cards from neutral splinter in today's review.

Ulundin Overseer

The first neutral splinter common card that we will reviewing today will be Ulundin Overseer. To be honest this card is a sandbag with a truck load of health and armour for another melee card that can hide behind this and start striking from the 2nd position. If you have a delicate melee attacker that you want to preserve and use for longer duration or something grows state, then this card will suit the situation well. This card can also be weapon trained and gain some attacking stats depends on who its "trainer" is and do damage while still functioning as a meat shield. Really good meat shield but the only downside is the high mana cost.

Chaos Lackey

Next card we will look at will be Chaos Lackey. A little league capable card that allows dispel which is something really important and able to remove all the positive buff from cards that might make you totally disadvantaged. Damage wise is minimal but key for this card is that it replaces Venari Spellsmith and main job is to remove all the positive buffs. Not meant to be having fantastic stats but important when bring balance to the match so that you are not affected badly.

Assessment 2 common cards that are being reviewed today of which both more of utility card and serve special purpose for what they do best. I like these cards can actually elevate a lineup and be used when the ruleset or certain cards likely to be played.

Rating wise, Ulundin Overseer would be getting a rating of 3.5/5 from me. While it look like simply a meat shield, it can do other things especially after weapon trained. The only downside is really 11 mana cost will take a big chunk of available mana especially if in the range of 20-30 mana match. As for Chaos Lackey, I would give it a rating of 3.5/5 as well. Nothing great to rave about but nothing bad enough to slam it down. Just a good utility card that needs to fit in correctly to nullify strong buffs against us.

My recommendation will be to get Ulundin Overseer to at level 1 suffice for the stats though at even higher it is even better and Nimbledook Ranger at level 1 as well just for the dispel, unlikely need to go to level 5 for trueshot.

Wrap Up Rebellion do really have good cards that are available and with Conclave Arcana establishing its foothold, synergies built amongst them will yield loads of advantage in the battlefield. And today we saw two card that are part of the established bloodline and able to tap on the bloodline buffs. The modern gameplay is evolving constantly with new ways to play considering the bloodline combinations. I like how things are moving through on the set releases and certainly hope to be able to learn more about the cards and better my gameplay on the battlefield.

Let's continue to grow and find path in modern as we journey on playing Splinterlands.
