Prelude
Hi all, good day to all of you. It's time again for Community Engagement Challenge. Today's topic is on Battlefield Breakthrough. This is a showcase of our most exciting, surprising or satisfying gameplay. While I did struggle a little to find a match to showcase, somehow the game is really kind to me and allowed me to have an amazing one today for this sharing. So let's get right on with it.

Awesome Match To Showcase

I have to say the match today caught me by surprise. While I thought it might be a match where I just fielded what I could, what came to me is that I am facing a very strong opponent with max Archon and a max tank which really made it a much tougher match for me.

Ruleset: Back to Basics
Mana: 31

Lineup Selection/Thoughts:

First I will start off with the Splinter selection, from a pool of Fire, Earth and Dragon, I decided to go with Fire. Reason being that I am expected a whole rampage of magic attack that can come my way in this kind of matchup and by using the Dwarf Bloodline Archon, I can actually get an additional 2 armour on my lineup which is really good for such matches.

Mana is not really high per-say which is good also for my pool of fire splinter cards. Now let me run through the line up that I put up. First in the tank position will be Mana Warden whom is a dwarf and will be able to get void on top of the armour that it get. The next card is Ashen Cindergrim which is also a dwarf that I put up with the void given to it as well. And because of bloodline, I can actually use Mad Kobomist which is an earth splinter card but it belongs to dwarf bloodline. Done with the dwarves, now the backline I put up my other magic attackers such as Chaos Evoker and Flame for Hire, both of which are really decent just a pity that Chaos Evoker cannot blast in the ruleset. Flame for Hire is quite good during normal ruleset because of the void. And last but not least, the anchorman for the lineup, Kha'zi Conjurer, fantastically made for this ruleset as there will no longer be the negative effects that it carry for being at such a good low mana but striking for 4 range damage.

Now onto my opponent, what stands in front of me is a max level Nomos, followed by a max level Chaos Orc. Not only that, the Mad Ogre Anarchist is also at max level. So with 3 crazy max level cards in my way, it is a very tough match to expect since these are really strong cards. And next up is a 3 attack Torch Vizier followed by a Level 4 Portly Cannoneer. Then they are followed by Night Stalker and Surly Drunk. On paper, these cards look really scary and tough to beat, but there is a fatal flaw that my opponent made when he choose to put all these massive melee attackers in a back to basic match, they will be facing my lineup one by one other than that one sole range card. So it is a matter of my lineup holding up against these cards sufficiently versus opponent taking out my cards from the front.

So let's see how this turned out in round by round analysis.

Round by Round Analysis

Round 1, A very cordial round where my cards try their best to take out Chaos Orc but only able to shave it till 4 health. No casualties but for sure Mana Warden will fall next turn.

Round 2, As expected Mana Warden fell but we also manage to clear out opponent's Chaos Orc. I am well aware of potentially one card getting cleared out each turn. So it is a numbers and speed game before all my tiny critter get cleared out.

image.png

Round 3, Not good, my Ashen Cindergrim got cleared out this round but opponent's Mad Ogre Anarchist is still there. I need to hope my remaining lineup hold strong.

image.png

Round 4, Mad Kobomist got cleared off and we manage to do the same for Mad Ogre Anarchist. We are a little under in terms of numbers, tide seems to swing towards my opponent.

image.png

Round 5, Awesome Torch Vizier got smashed and I gonna get a free hit on the range Portly Cannoneer since it can't hit at first position.

image.png

Round 6, While we did clear Portly, Night Stalker was first to pounce. 2 vs 2, I think i should stand a better chance.

Round 7/8, Picking up the pieces, Kha'zi just keep smashing and smashing to help gain me the victory I need. Whew, what a hair raising encounter which initially I thought I had a chance when I saw opponent mistake but somehow things got a little shaky midway but still, Kha'zi Conjurer with his massive 4 range attack stood tall as my lineup secured the win!

After Thoughts
This was crazy, facing a massive opponent while he made a mistake on fielding all melee cards, those cards are thick and can easily wipe out my cards that are on the weaker spectrum in terms of stats. The saving grace came from my archon which gave everyone additional armour to see us through and secured the win! Love how we finally turn back the tide and get a nice win against a very levelled up opponent.

Wrap Up
Thank you for coming by my post and look at the match I shared today. Hope you like the match and how underdogs with the right cards and right combination will not bow down to strong foes!
