Hi there Hive Family,
Today a six of us gathered and decided that we want to refresh ourselves and just enjoy the sunshine and the water element of life.
We left the cars in the suburbs of Sofia and headed off to Boyana Waterfalls.
As usual, we needed to get deep into the woods to accomplish that so we walked while breathing fresh air.
Before long, we reached our first scenery viewpoint and we took a brake amidst taking some high altitude pictures.
This is the city of Sofia from a high. And the TV tower in distance is called the hoof. It has spectacular views to Sofia city. A famous location for night parties and chill outs. There is also a hotel nearby. Every year in August there is a special event that takes place, namely the Perseid meteor shower. Everybody comes to watch the falling stars and their beauty.
We were getting very close to the waterfall and saw a lady who was afraid to cross the river and accidently fall. Of course we proactively asked her if she needed help and happily reached out to take her overboard.
Eventually, hiding neatly behind the trees we reached our destination. Boyana waterfalls. Let's take a closer look of this impresive nature construction.

I got close to the upper side of the waterfall to take some pictures. It was awesome!
Then came down to check out the bottom of the waterfall. Boyana waterfall is also a climbing site. It has climbing routes, main belay, and abseil points. It is active during the whole year for ice, sport, traditional, and dry-tooling.
Time to leave the big waterfall and head down ot the city. I am going to take another route which actually mimics the river trail. It is going to be a spectacular descend.
Time for fun. Some of the smaller waterfalls on my way back are comparable with the big one.

Last shots. We ended up at our starting point but via an alternative route and it had a military area on the side. Not used anymore but built right at the end of the river for a reason. To control the water supply and use it maybe as an electricity source.
