¿Cómo están el día de hoy? Yo muy bien y muy feliz de estar otra vez por aquí. Todos sabemos que Ghibli es una casa de estudio de películas de animación con una gran trayectoria en el mercado, teniendo unas cintas que han ganado muchísimos premios; por eso en esta ocasión tuve muchas ganas de traer un top 3 de las mejores películas de estudio Ghibli según la crítica general. Sin más, quiero contarles un poco de estas películas, y también del porqué están donde están.

We all know that Ghibli is an animation film studio with a great trajectory in the market, having films that have won many awards; that's why this time I wanted to bring a top 3 of the best films of Ghibli studio according to the general critics. Without further ado, I want to tell you a little about these films, and also why they are where they are.

Número 3: El castillo ambulante (Howl's moving castle)

Esta película sigue la historia de Sophie, una joven que empeñaba el trabajo de sombrerera, la cual es maldecida por una bruja y convertida en una anciana desesperada por romper este hechizo. Sophie se aventura en un camino especular, el cual la terminará llevando a habitar un enigmático mundo donde conocerá a un mago llamado Howl, a su joven aprendiz Markl y a un demonio de fuego llamado Calcifer. A medida que Sophie se integra en esta caótica vida, descubre los secretos de este mago y empiezan a tener una relación bastante compleja que comienza con una amistad nada usual, la cual se pone a prueba con una guerra.

This film follows the story of Sophie, a young woman who pawned the job of milliner, who is cursed by a witch and turned into an old woman desperate to break the spell. Sophie ventures on a speculative path, which will eventually lead her to inhabit an enigmatic world where she will meet a wizard named Howl, his young apprentice Markl and a fire demon named Calcifer. As Sophie integrates into this chaotic life, she discovers the secrets of this wizard and they begin to have a complex relationship that starts with an unusual friendship, which is put to the test with a war.

Esta película explora temas como la vejez, la belleza interior, el amor y la elocuencia por la guerra. Sofía, a pesar de tener una apariencia algo extraña de anciana, demuestra una fuerza de voluntad y ganas de trabajar inquebrantables, ayudando a Howl a darle la cara a sus miedos más profundos, logrando liberarlo de su propia maldición. Esta película ofrece una narrativa visual increíble y emocionante, la cual nos complementa muy bien con una banda sonora única ganadora de diferentes premios. Personalmente, esta es una película que me encanta y que considero que todo el mundo debería ver alguna vez.

This film explores themes such as old age, inner beauty, love and the eloquence of war. Sofia, despite having a somewhat strange appearance of an old woman, demonstrates an unbreakable willpower and will to work, helping Howl to face his deepest fears and freeing him from his own curse. This film offers an incredible and exciting visual narrative, which is complemented by a unique award-winning soundtrack. Personally, this is a movie that I love and that I think everyone should see sometime.

Número 2: La princesa Mononoke (Princess Mononoke)

Esta película con unos años encima está ambientada en el Japón del periodo Muromachi. Narra la historia de Ashitaka, un príncipe de una tribu que es maldecido por un animal, el cual lo obliga a emprender una búsqueda por una cura. Así es como nuestro príncipe viaja hacia el oeste y se encuentra en medio de un conflicto entre los espíritus de la naturaleza y los humanos de la ciudad de Hierro liderados por la ambiciosa y fuerte Lady Eboshi. Entre todo este problema y toda esta guerra, nuestro príncipe llega a conocer a una joven criada por lobos llamada "San", también conocida como La princesa Mononoke, quien lucha ferozmente para proteger su bosque ante tanto desastre.

This film is a few years old and is set in Japan during the Muromachi period. It tells the story of Ashitaka, a prince of a tribe who is cursed by an animal, which forces him to embark on a quest for a cure. This is how our prince travels to the west and finds himself in the middle of a conflict between the spirits of nature and the humans of the city of Iron led by the ambitious and strong Lady Eboshi. La película tiene muchísimo para dar; realmente tiene una trama poderosa y reflexiva sobre la relación entre la humanidad y la naturaleza, explorando la destrucción ambiental, la codicia y la búsqueda de un equilibrio a través de personajes complejos como es La princesa Mononoke. Muestra las caras del mundo y cómo algunas personas priorizan su bienestar antes que el bienestar de su gente y su hábitat. Esta es una obra épica y visualmente impactante que invita a la reflexión sobre la coexistencia y el respeto por el mundo natural.

The film has a lot to give; it really has a powerful and thoughtful plot about the relationship between humanity and nature, exploring environmental destruction, greed and the search for balance through complex characters such as Princess Mononoke. It shows the faces of the world and how some people prioritize their well-being before the well-being of their people and their habitat. This is an epic and visually stunning work that invites reflection on coexistence and respect for the natural world.

Esta película ha sido fuertemente aclamada por el público Y muy recomendada, ya que nos demuestra muy bien cómo la codicia puede llegar a destruir diferentes espacios de la naturaleza que llevan años desarrollándose, simplemente por un poco de dinero, el cual llenará el bolsillo de algunos por un tiempo. Aquí no demuestra la fuerza que puede llegar a tener la naturaleza haciendo uso de la fauna o no. Esta película tiene varios años de que se estrenó, pero desde ese momento ha ganado diferentes reconocimientos gracias al mensaje tan importante que trata de transmitir con un toque animado y fantasioso.

This film has been strongly acclaimed by the public AND highly recommended, as it shows us very well how greed can destroy different areas of nature that have been developing for years, simply for a little money, which will fill the pockets of some for a while. Here it does not show the strength that nature can have by making use of the fauna or not. This film was released several years ago, but since then it has won several awards thanks to the important message it tries to convey with a touch of animation and fantasy.

Número 1: El viaje de Chihiro (Spirited Away)

En el número uno no podía estar en ninguna otra película que no fuera esta. El viaje de Chihiro sigue a una niña de 10 años llamada Chihiro, la cual se muda con sus padres a una nueva casa. En ese camino, se encuentra atrapada en un misterioso mundo de espíritus junto a sus padres. Aquí Chigiro tiene que emprender un gran viaje Y muchos retos luego de que sus padres fueron transformados en cerdos por desobedecer las reglas del lugar. Así es como nuestra protagonista debe trabajar en una casa de baños operada por una formidable bruja para sobrevivir y encontrar la manera de liberar a sus padres y, evidentemente, regresar a su propio mundo. Allí conoce a personajes muy importantes, los cuales la ayudarán y la guiarán para poco a poco lograr derrotar a esta bruja y volver a su mundo normal con sus padres.

At number one it couldn't be in any other movie but this one. Spirited Away follows a 10-year-old girl named Chihiro, who moves with her parents to a new house. Along the way, she finds herself trapped in a mysterious spirit world with her parents. Here Chigiro has to undertake a great journey AND many challenges after her parents were transformed into pigs for disobeying the rules of the place. This is how our protagonist must work in a bathhouse operated by a formidable witch to survive and find a way to free her parents and, evidently, return to her own world. There she meets very important characters, who will help her and guide her to gradually defeat this witch and return to her normal world with her parents.

La película es una profunda alegoría sobre la madurez, la responsabilidad y la pérdida de la inocencia. Esto lo vemos bastante reflejado cuando al inicio Chihiro es un poco asustadiza y muy dependiente de sus padres. Vemos como poco a poco, mientras va avanzando la película, se ve forzada a crecer y a mostrar nueva valentía y determinación en su entorno desconocido para poder superar ese mundo lleno de peligros. A través de sus encuentros con una variedad de seres espirituales, algunos amigables y otros hostiles, Chihiro aprende la importancia de la perseverancia, la bondad y el valor de su propia entidad como un viaje de autodescubrimiento.

The film is a profound allegory about maturity, responsibility and the loss of innocence. We see this quite reflected when at the beginning Chihiro is a bit frightened and very dependent on her parents. We see how little by little, as the film progresses, she is forced to grow up and show new courage and determination in her unfamiliar surroundings in order to overcome this world full of dangers. Through her encounters with a variety of spiritual beings, some friendly and some hostile, Chihiro learns the importance of perseverance, kindness and the value of her own entity as a journey of self-discovery.

Esta película, personalmente, me encanta. Más allá del mensaje, queda visualmente simplemente hermosa; cada detalle está muy bien cuidado y la banda sonora no se queda atrás, nos regala momentos inolvidables que nos harán querer volver a ver esta película. Los personajes son muy bien trabajados y cada uno de ellos tiene una personalidad única que los diferencia uno del otro. Sin duda, no hay película de esta casa productora que merezca este puesto igual que esta película, en mi opinión.

Personally, I love this film. Beyond the message, it is visually simply beautiful; every detail is very well cared for and the soundtrack is not far behind, it gives us unforgettable moments that will make us want to see this movie again. The characters are very well crafted and each one of them has a unique personality that differentiates them from each other. Undoubtedly, there is no film from this production house that deserves this position as well as this film, in my opinion.
