The soft hum of the air conditioning in the car was the only sound that accompanied my friend, my dog Luna, and me as we headed to a corner of Margarita Island that felt like an open secret: Playa El Ángel. The morning sun was already beginning to warm up, promising one of those days that stay in your memory. Luna, with her head sticking out the window, already seemed to sense the adventure, her fur waving in time with the sea breeze.

When we arrived, the beach welcomed us with its warm, salty embrace. Unlike other more crowded beaches, this one had a special calm. A silence that invited introspection, broken only by the murmur of the waves breaking on the shore. We spread our towels under the shade of a solitary palm tree and time suddenly stood still. Luna, free and happy, ran from one side to the other, leaving small footprints in the sand, her joy a reflection of ours.

I took Eckhart Tolle's book The Power of Now out of my bag, a perfect companion for this day. While my friend settled down to enjoy the scenery, I immersed myself in its pages, feeling each word resonate with the surroundings. The sand beneath my feet, the sound of the sea, the breeze on my face... Everything came together to create a moment of deep connection. Reading was not just a pastime, it was an act of presence, an invitation to live in the moment.

After a while, the temptation of the water was irresistible. We put the book aside and waded into the sea, the cool water slowly covering us. We let ourselves float, our gaze lost on the horizon, feeling the immensity of the ocean. It was at that moment that we decided to meditate, closing our eyes and tuning in to the rhythm of the waves. Tolle's words floated in my mind, inviting me to leave my worries behind and immerse myself in the only moment that truly exists: the present.

The meditation lasted until the sun began to paint the sky orange and pink. We opened our eyes and found ourselves looking at a sunset that looked like it had been painted by an artist. It was a spectacle of vivid colors, a majestic farewell to the day. We stayed in the water, in silence, simply observing the beauty that surrounded us, with Luna sitting on the sand, her silhouette outlined against the fiery sky.

That day at Playa El Ángel was more than just a day at the beach. It was a reminder of the importance of disconnecting to reconnect, of the magic of nature, of the strength of friendship, and of the power of the present moment. The simplicity of a book, a dog, and good company combined to create an unforgettable afternoon, a moment of peace that we will undoubtedly treasure for a long time to come.
