Hey guys, welcome to my blog.
Is a degree something worth having? Yes, I believe it is, although some people think otherwise. Some people don't believe that having a degree is worth it, they think it's useless and that school is scam. I won't blame people that think like that because our government is not making it look like the degree is worth it, because someone can get a degree and then end up walking up and down seeking for job and the person might not see. There are some degree holders that are bus drivers, conductors, some have turned touts, because they have looked for job and they didn't see and they had to turn to the only way they knew could make money.
There are a lot of jobs and great opportunities that require you to have a degree. Jobs like medicine, law, teaching requires you to have a degree. Yes you're very hardworking but when the administration asks for your qualifications and you don't have it, you might loose that opportunity. Having a degree is like having a key to many doors, the key might not be able to open all doors but it'll definitely open the important ones. Mind you, it's not all successful people that have a degree but what works for Mr A might not work for Mr B, so why not give yourself a chance with a degree.
Education plays a vital role in our lives. This makes school system need improvement, some schools focus on theory and not practical. Students and pupils cram books and pass exams then forget everything. Schools need to teach both knowledge and life skills, like how to start a business, how to save money, how to build confidence, and even how to care for mental health. Because these are things we face every day and it's not in schemes so school should draw a time table and include these. Schools should focus on mostly practicals because it's easier for child to learn when practical is being held.
A lot of student and pupils have talents which are yet to be discovered this is what the school is meant to help them achieve, everything shouldn't always be about reading books and all. Some kids are gifted in art, music, fashion or even craft but some parents and some schools push the child to go into something he or she doesn't feel comfortable with and end up being frustrated even after getting a degree.
Yes, I believe degree is important and still worth it,but schools should do more. They should teach the children how to survive in the real world and not just read and pass exams, because life is more than that. As individuals, we must be ready to learn whether in the school or outside the school. Education might not guarantee your success but at least you will have a fighting chance. Success depends on how you use your knowledge and keep learning in life because learning doesn't stop in the school.
