Truth: a path to peace and clarity

Personally, I believe it is better to know the truth right here and now than to find out later. The truth might be hurtful, and painful but it sets you free. Yes, a lie may be comforting for a short while but when the truth eventually comes out, it causes more pain.

Truth gives us clarity and help us understand what is going on around us. Some people lie because they want to protect your feelings and your heart but honestly they are making it worse.

I remember a time I suspected my friend of not being honest. I suspected she was giving my guy signals then but she kept denying and saying different things to make me believe. When I later found out the truth, the pain I felt was like double punishment. Yes we all tell lies and some of us find it very easy to do so without even thinking twice. But it is better to know the truth early than to be lied to and later find out the truth later yourself.

One thing some people do not know is that truth builds trust in relationships. If someone tells me the truth even if it hurts, I will still respect them for being honest with me. Yes the truth can break us, it can bring tears to our eyes, anger but in the end it brings peace.

I will always choose truth no matter how painful. I want people to be honest with me whole I do the same with them. Life is already hard to be pretending and living in lies. I will rather hear the truth now, deal with it, cry if I have to and I know it'll help me grow stronger.

So, I will love to hear your opinion. Do you think it's better to tell a lie and keep peace for a short while or tell the truth and let peace reign for a long time?
