Why do we remember the shortcomings of people? The sins of people, the ugly things that were done to us by people ? Because we do not walk in love. Why is it for all the things that are forgettable?
Why is it that the bad things that they have done to you are not very easy to forget.
Because there is a force that brings things back to your memory, the ugly thing that had happened, in order for the hatred, for the bitterness to remain. And while that bitterness and hatred remains, you are under charge of being a murderer.
Let's read I John 3: 15 “ anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him” . The work of satan to take away the eternal life God is promising us, to disqualify us to have eternal life. It is the work of satan, by preserving the hate we have in our heart against a brother, against a fellow human being.
The ire, the anger, the hatred, the bitterness that stays, is the bullet or the arm of satan in order to win the fight against God to make you not inherit the eternal but eternal punishment in hell. Because according to the word of God, so that we may forget this hatred, this bitterness, what we have to do is in the Bible.
Ephesians 4:30 so if we walk in love, we will learn how to forgive. Why do we remember the shortcomings of people, the sins of people, the ugly things that were done to us by people ? Because we do not walk in love. Love eradicates all hatred. Love eradicates all bitterness. Love will take away every evil thing in our persons. If you find it hard to overcome hatred, if you find it hard to forget, when it is very easy for you to remember the ugly things done to you by other people, it means that there is no love in your heart.
Everything may pass away but love remains. And that is what maybe is lacking in your heart, that is why you find it very hard to forget. When you forgive, you find it very hard to forget all those ugly things that were done to you by your offender.
Taking that love recommended for us by the Lord Jesus Christ, that love is greater than all hatred, and because that love is God.
