Reinvent Yourself Before Opportunity Knocks

Alot of people are quick to blame their parents, the system and government for their downfall and inability to get their desired life and to some extent that might be right, but then regardless of what is made available for you by either of those entity I listed above, you yourself must be intentional about reinventing yourself and positioning yourself for all round blessing, favour and unexpected upliftment. When you go to the social media you'll find a lot of people who are quick to blame other people but themselves for their woe and at the end of the day when their cries are heard and someone decided to help them, it's then you'll realise it's either they don't have anything doing that can be impacted or they just ain't willing to be committed to any course than to see a loophole they can milk from.  Not that I'm saying everyone are like that, because we've got some people who are genuinely trying and giving their best in everything they could just to make ends meet and yet it's as though the universe is against them in one way or another, the situation of Efemini in the movie "to kill a monkey" is a typical example of that, we've got a lot of people like that and yet nothing seems to work in their favour, but then my address isn't to those set of people today, I'm talking to those who have nothing doing and yet wants to live large and while blaming the system for their woes. My message to these set of people is to find something doing, if at all anyone wants to help you, it's much easier to invest in what you do than just giving you money to start something a fresh from scratch, which although is also great, but then not everyone of these guys really needs the help, all they wanted is someone who keeps giving them money so they can eat or fund the lifestyle they desire, nothing more, and thats one of the reasons our dear country keep getting dragged into the ditch year after year, because these are the set of people politicians later gives peanut and before you know it, they'll do the unthinkable for their master for their own selfish interests.  Why am I saying these? well let's just say I feel the need to and due to a recent scenario I witnessed of a guy whom I use to see and hear rant about everything, and luckily for him someone heard his cry and decided to help him, by investing in his business or skills, it turns out these guy doesn't have any, he has been living off anything he can get from hailing people on the street, to cut the long story short, he was giving the sum of five million Naira to start something that can reshape his life gradually, but you won't believe what this guy did with the money!First be went to book a room in a hotel and then party all night for some days, drinking, eating and carrying prostitude and before you know it, he has ran out of cash and once again back on the street hailing and begging as usual. The truth is that I'm really angry about the whole issue and can't help but say he didn't deserve such favour because he hasn't through the years shown any seriousness towards reinventing his life, meanwhile we've got people who are genuinely trying and yet couldn't locate such help or favours, I know is all down to luck. And that's not to even forget the story of a rich business in my community here in Epe, who came back to Nigeria to set of a business so he can transform lives of a few set of people through direct employment into his business, he furnished the place, employed about 30 unemployed youth who have been crying about unemployment for years and after that he travelled back to the state. Fast forward to seven months of setting up the business, you won't believe everyone he put incharge of the business find a way of bringing down the business because of their greed, which lead them to selling some of the properties of the business one after the other. The business owner found out about everything that happened and decided to let things slide without pressing charges, but who losses in the end? The man to those unemployed people he employed only for them to ruin his business because of their greed? Personally I think the staff are the losers here because at the end of the day, they'll only sell and spend the money they looted from his business for awhile, after which they'll go back to being unemployed once again, when they could have easily sustain the place and make it a source of steady income that'll make a difference in their life for a long time.  In conclusion what I'm driving at is that regardless of how bad the system is or have failed us, it's worth noting that lasting changes often begins with taking personal responsibility of your situation, make effort today to reinvest your life for good and stop waiting for others to help you before you take a step. And to those out their waiting for free money before they can take a step, just know that access to free money without vision Is more or like pouring water into a basket. So please start building something today, no matter how small it might be now, with time it'll surely grows to something begin in the future that you'll end up being proud of. *** All photos are mine. ***
