We all know vampires are bloodsuckers who depend on blood to stay alive the same way we humans depend on food. Discovering someone you can call your friend is one thing, but is that enough ground to put an end to the friendship? In this article I'll be expressing my take on how I'd react and what I'd do if I realized my friend and his entire family are vampires. Like I said above, I'd be scared immediately if I found out, even if I don't show it or let him know, but then there are several significant things that'll determine my next line of action, maybe to cut short such friendship, tell other friends, or better still, continue with the friendship as though there's nothing that differentiates us. The first thing that'll determine my next line of action is how long I've been friends with such a person. If the lifespan of our friendship is short, then it might be easy for me to just end it, but if it were to be a friendship that has stood the test of time, I might have some reservations, especially given the fact that he hasn't hurt me since we've been friends. ![20251020_204939_0002.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/vickoly/23tRt5DWTbCm9aFMr2sYPzQKqktnsJzwTy3ARTCzTmtSVJaVRn51xrQNMzPCRNQnq2j5D.png) After ascertaining how long our friendship is within me, then I'll move to having critical interactions, or should I call it scrutiny or questioning, with him. I'd be asking questions such as how long they've been a vampire, if there's someone on the rampage who turned them, and if I should be afraid of falling victim as well. I'll also want to know how they've been surviving this long, knowing fully well that vampires depend on blood. Is it that they only drink animal blood, or do they drink human blood? And if it's human blood, do they just pick a random prey and suck him dry, or do they visit the hospital blood bank to buy blood? If my friend can prove to me beyond any atom of doubt that they only feast on animals' blood or blood from a blood bank, then I won't have any cause for alarm, but if I sense he's being dishonest or he has been someone I've been cautious about even before I discovered he's a vampire, then I'll look for a way to create some distance between us and also make sure to warn other friends to be careful of their family, although that's even difficult to believe, so even if I told others, they might just laugh it off, because I'd have done the same if I were told such, given the fact that we believe vampires are not real. ![20251020_204939_0000.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/vickoly/23vhwxcbxG7gcojSXyXMrXErQn4Q6J4YAXxWN5AYMw3zhZszJY5jycHRWy5AYq5v9WoRd.png) Given the fact that we believe vampires are immortal, I'll be asking him how old he is and might even explore the thought of him turning me into one, because I just nurture that thought now, but in the end I won't want to be a vampire. I think there's joy in knowing you've a little and you don't know when the end will come but are certain it'll come one day, unlike vampires, who don't. But overall, like I said, all of the above aspects I explore are what will determine my actions. *** All photos are taken and edited on canva. ***
