Many years ago, during my adolescence, I remember an animated series on television that began to attract the attention of everyone, children and adults alike, not only because of its compelling plot, but also because, being an Asian series, it was partially geared toward Latin America, specifically Argentina. I recently watched it again with my wife online, and I was reacquainted with that wonderful story of an Italian boy who terribly misses his mother. Marco, in the midst of the country's recession, had to emigrate to Argentina in search of new horizons. Marco's father couldn't accompany her because he's a doctor and didn't want to abandon the poor patients who depended on his care, given the precarious situation. In this way, the boy begins to work hard (behind his father's back) to save up the money that allows him to travel. However, when, after many adventures and difficulties, he arrives in Argentina, he not only discovers that all the money he was carrying has been stolen, but also that his mother was not in the place she had indicated in her letters; she had moved to another province. In this way, Marco begins a pilgrimage across the country in search of his mother. >Hace muchos años, durante mi adolescencia, recuerdo que en la televisión pasaban una serie animada que comenzó a llamar la atención de todos, niños y adultos por igual, no solo por la buena trama que tenía, sino que además, siendo una serie asiática estaba parcialmente orientada hacia Latinoamérica, específicamente en Argentina. Recientemente me puse a verla de nuevo con mi esposa, a través de internet y me reencontré con esa historia tan maravillosa de un niño italiano que extraña muchísimo a su madre, la cuál, en plena recesión del país tuvo que emigrar hasta Argentina en busca de nuevos horizontes. El padre de Marco no pudo acompañarla porque es médico y no quería abandonar a los pacientes pobres que dependían de sus atenciones, ya que la situación era precaria. De esta manera, el niño comienza a trabajar arduamente (a escondidas del padre) para juntar el dinero que le permite viajar, sin embargo cuando, después de muchas aventuras y dificultades, llega a Argentina, no solo descubre que le han robado todo el dinero que llevaba, sino que además su madre no estaba en el lugar que había indicado mediante sus cartas, se había mudado a otra provincia, de esta manera Marco comienza un peregrinar por todo el país en busca de su madre.

This series has the unique ability to make you feel motivated, because even though many bad things happen to Marco along the way, and every time it seems like he's going to find his mother it turns out he isn't, he never loses faith or hope. On the contrary, he is filled with great inner strength and motivation, so he is an example of resilience and perseverance. >Esta serie tiene la particularidad de hacer que te sientas motivado, porque a pesar de que a Marco le suceden muchas cosas malas en el camino, y que cada vez que parece que va a encontrar a su madre resulta que no es así, de todos modos él jamás pierde la fe ni la esperanza, al contrario, se llena de una gran fuerza interna y motivación, así que es un ejemplo de resiliencia y perseverancia.
Another aspect I liked was that through this series, viewers have the opportunity to learn about two different cultures (Italian and Argentine), which don't really differ much since both Italians and Latin Americans tend to place a lot of importance on the concept of family and what it represents for society. It also highlights values like honesty, respect, and friendship. It was nice to see Marco encounter very good people along the way who were willing to help him, such as Peppino and his Troupe, a family of artists from whom Marco learned a lot.
Otro aspecto que me gustó fue que a través de esta serie los espectadores tienen la oportunidad de aprender sobre dos culturas diferentes (la italiana y la argentina) la cuál en realidad no difiere mucho ya que tanto los italianos como los latinoamericanos tienden a darle muchísima importancia al concepto de familia y lo que esta representa para la sociedad, además realza valores como la honestidad, el respeto y la amistad. Fue bonito ver que Marco encontrase en su camino a personas muy buenas que estuvieron dispuestos a ayudarlo, como por ejemplo Peppino y su Troupe, una familia de artistas de la que Marco aprendió muchísimo.
This is a classic that evokes nostalgia, not only for that time in my adolescence when I saw it for the first time, but even for the years we did not live (the time represented in the series). I understand that it is the adaptation of a book called From the Apennines to the Andes, so I would like to read it, but although I have not read it, I am sure that they did a good job because the Japanese are known for their level of perfectionism.
Este es un clásico que evoca la nostalgia, no solo de aquella época de mi adolescencia cuando lo vi por primera vez, sino incluso de los años que no vivimos (la época representada en la serie) Tengo entendido que es la adaptación de un libro llamado De los Apeninos a los Andes, así que me gustaría leerlo, pero aunque no lo he leído estoy seguro que hicieron un buen trabajo porque los japoneses son conocidos por su nivel de perfeccionismo.
