El domingo pasado decidí ir a Nerdo, una feria que se celebraba en Villa Crespo (CABA). Lo interesante es que estaba dedicada a la cultura pop y la entrada era gratuita, por lo que no me pude resistir. Tenía pensado comprar algo, pero la realidad era que quería disfrutar de un domingo tranquilo, recorriendo algún lugar para salir de la monotonía. Este espacio no era muy grande, pero se las arreglaron bien como para organizar todo tipo de puestos. Podías encontrar productos de animé o relacionados a los videojuegos, como también ropa, accesorios, y obviamente gastronomía, aunque los precios de este último sí los consideraba elevados. De resto, los precios eran bastante accesible.

Last Sunday, I decided to go to Nerdo, a fair held in Villa Crespo (CABA). The interesting thing was that it was dedicated to pop culture and admission was free, so I couldn't resist. I had planned to buy something, but the truth was that I wanted to enjoy a quiet Sunday, visiting somewhere to break out of the monotony. The space wasn't very big, but they managed to organize all kinds of stalls. You could find anime and video game-related products, as well as clothing, accessories, and, of course, food, although I did find the prices for the latter to be high. Otherwise, the prices were quite affordable.
Es muy probable que al recorrer el espacio te encontraras con algo que te llamara mucho la atención. Había muchas artesanías que, justamente, adquieren valor por la dedicación de quien las crea. Las tablas me parecieron muy bonitas a simple vista, y es seguro que se las disfrutaría comiendo pizzas sobre ellas. Los grabados tenían trazos muy prolijos, pero me pregunté si se podían pedir a hacer, con algún formato en particular. También muchos stickers, pegatinas e imanes de todo tipo. Productos para vestir y demás, que hacían la experiencia sobradamente variada en caso de que busques algo así.

It is very likely that as you walked around the space, you came across something that caught your attention. There were many handicrafts that, precisely, acquire value because of the dedication of those who create them. The boards looked very nice at first glance, and I'm sure I would enjoy eating pizza on them. The engravings had very neat lines, but I wondered if they could be made to order, in a particular format. There were also many stickers and magnets of all kinds. Clothing and other items made the experience very varied if you were looking for something like that.
Si bien no estoy al tanto de Halloween, sí había un puesto sobre ello. Habían alfajores y lo que serían algunas galletas que se veían ricas. Nuevamente los precios no estaban altos en lo que respecta al producto, sosteniendo lo que dije al principio. Por el contrario, el precio de las bebidas sí era alto. Quien me acompañaba es compró una botellita de agua, que si no recuerdo mal, le costó entre $3.500 y $4.500 pesos argentinos, lo cual era muy caro. Le pregunté por qué no salíamos y buscábamos un kiosco, pero me dijo que ya fue, que ya la había comprado.

Although I am not familiar with Halloween, there was a stand dedicated to it. They had alfajores and what looked like some delicious cookies. Again, the prices were not high for the products, confirming what I said at the beginning. On the contrary, the price of drinks was high. The person who was with me bought a small bottle of water, which, if I remember correctly, cost between $3,500 and $4,500 Argentine pesos, which was very expensive. I asked him why we didn't leave and look for a kiosk, but he said it was too late, he had already bought it.
El lugar en el que se celebraba Nerdo en esa oportunidad, era el Club Cultural Matienzo. En el primer piso, nos encontrábamos con un patio de comidas, con algunos puestos en las inmediaciones del lugar. La verdad es que me esperaba que haya algún espacio para los videojuegos, como los hubo en otros eventos, con televisores de tubo y consolas. Creo que eso echo en falta, pero por lo general estuvo muy bien.

The venue for Nerdo on that occasion was the Matienzo Cultural Club. On the first floor, there was a food court with a few stalls in the vicinity. To be honest, I was expecting there to be some space for video games, as there had been at other events, with tube televisions and consoles. I think I missed that, but overall it was very good.
Creo que había muy buena ropa para quienes buscan vestirse con temática de animé. Al parecer, mucha gente estaba dispuesta a hacer unas buenas compras. Uno podía llegar a pensar que estaba lleno de adolescentes, pero más bien era gente de mediana edad, muy interesada en lo que cada comerciante intentaba destacar. Medias habían suficientes como para estar un buen rato eligiendo por cuál optar. Aunque si tuviera que elegir una, me compraría unas que tienen forma de patas de pollo, jajaja.

I think there were some really nice clothes for people looking to dress up in anime-themed outfits. It seemed like a lot of people were ready to do some serious shopping. You might think it was full of teenagers, but it was actually mostly middle-aged people who were very interested in what each merchant was trying to highlight. There were enough socks to spend a long time choosing which ones to buy. Although if I had to choose one, I would buy some that are shaped like chicken feet, ha ha ha.
Sobre temáticas de Pókemon había variedad en absoluto. Probablemente algún fan viendo esto se sentiría muy emocionado. También tenían su toque artesanal, como las pokebolas que tenían personajes dentro, aunque no se limitaban a ese animé, también habían otras opciones. Muñecos de animé también, de todo tipo. Comparando con precios vistos en otros lugares me pareció barato. Tal vez comprara algo de este estilo, pero no soy muy fan de los animé, salvo de Naruto, que de hecho tengo un llavero, aunque aún no lo he utilizado.

There was a wide variety of Pokémon-related items. Any fan seeing this would probably be very excited. They also had a handmade touch, such as Poké Balls with characters inside, although they weren't limited to that anime; there were other options as well. There were also anime figures of all kinds. Compared to prices seen elsewhere, I thought it was cheap. I might buy something like this, but I'm not really a fan of anime, except for Naruto, which I actually have a keychain for, although I haven't used it yet.
A estas alturas todavía no había comprado nada. Habían gorras muy bonitas, estampados para ponerle a la ropa, más stickers de otras variedades, etc. La calidad estaba muy bien por el precio que tenían, pero yo buscaba algo mínimo. Tal vez un sticker que me gustase. Habían muñecos hechos con impresora 3D que eran bastante grandes. Pero el que más me gustó fue Crash, el original. Aquél que nació en los 90's.

At this point, I still hadn't bought anything. There were some very nice caps, prints to put on clothes, more stickers of other varieties, etc. The quality was very good for the price, but I was looking for something minimal. Maybe a sticker that I liked. There were 3D-printed figures that were quite large. But the one I liked best was Crash, the original. The one that was born in the 90s.
Para los amantes de los mates, también había productos a buenos precios. Los diseños variaban entre personajes y series, todos con su toque artesanal. Los diseños estaban muy bien, aptos para regalarle a alguien que estimas mucho. Estaban hechos de madera, lo cual no sé si ayudaría a que el mate se enfríe. Muchos se quejan cuando sirven o les llega un mate frío, y hasta pueden crear una discusión sobre ello. En lo particular, sin consumir mate, prefiero que esté tibio, pero gustos son gustos.

For mate lovers, there were also products at good prices. The designs varied between characters and series, all with a handmade touch. The designs were very nice, suitable for giving to someone you care about. They were made of wood, which I don't know if it would help the mate cool down. Many people complain when they are served or receive a cold mate, and it can even lead to an argument. Personally, without drinking mate, I prefer it warm, but to each their own.
Tazas había de toda clase, más que nada sobre películas que ya tienen su tiempo de haber sido estrenadas. Muy interesante si eres alguien que prefiere lo retro o lo que ya se ha instalado como un clásico. Prácticamente este comercio estaba dedicado a lo nostálgico, algo que está creciendo fuerte en el ambiente del diseño y que muchos buscan atesorar.

There were all kinds of mugs, mostly featuring movies that had been released some time ago. Very interesting if you're someone who prefers retro items or things that have become classics. This store was practically dedicated to nostalgia, something that is growing strongly in the design world and that many people seek to treasure.
Al final de la travesía, me compré un solo sticker de un alien con una frase que no llego a entender, pero asumo que tendrá algo que ver con los hongos, porque habían varios otros con referencia a ello. Pensé y lo compré igual, dándole otro contexto. Además me encanta la temática de los aliens. De hecho quien me acompañó me compró ese pin para colgar en alguna mochila o ropa, así que eso fue suficiente para irme feliz con lo que obtuve de allí. Posiblemente pegue en mi notebook ese sticker, sea al lado del logo de Hive o en la parte trasera, aún no lo defino. No pretendo inundar mi notebook con stickers, pero tal vez ya he comenzado a hacerlo.

At the end of the trip, I bought a single sticker of an alien with a phrase I don't quite understand, but I assume it has something to do with mushrooms, because there were several others with references to them. I thought about it and bought it anyway, giving it another context. Besides, I love the alien theme. In fact, the person who accompanied me bought me that pin to hang on a backpack or clothing, so that was enough to leave me happy with what I got there. I might stick that sticker on my notebook, either next to the Hive logo or on the back, I haven't decided yet. I don't intend to flood my notebook with stickers, but maybe I've already started to do so.
