Birthed

The dark was quiet, The dark was warm, Cradled in embrace, Cradled in a safe place, No need to wonder, No need to think, Idle moments asleep, Idle moments free.

What is comfort? What is trouble? With a simple mind, With simple thoughts, No worries for the present, No care for complexity, Until when will this be, Until then shall it be.

Rumbling struck their abode, Rumbling they awoke, They felt confusion now, They felt fear now, What is happening?! What is this feeling?! They could not choose, They could not resist.

Their first sound, Their first cry, The warmth gone, The home gone, All was unknown, All was too sudden, Out into the world, Out into the light,

Against their will, Against their desire, In stranger hands, In stranger lands, By the will of God, By the will of man, Unto the world they came, Unto the world they are birthed.
