A day old is a common reason for us to either re-heat it/throw it (sad to say) when it would be best if you just simply WOK-it up and give that rice a new flavor so you can better enjoy it!
Here’s a simple FRIED RICE recipe that you can follow:
Spicy Shrimp & Basil Fried Rice
Ingredients (2 servings) 3 - 4 cloves of garlic (minced/crushed) 1 medium onion (thinly sliced) 2 - 3 pcs of red/green bird’s eye chili (minced/crushed) 2 eggs 1/2 - 1 cup of basil leaves 10 - 15 pcs of medium size shrimps (peeled & deveined) 2 tbsp butter 2 - 3 cups of rice
Sauce mixture 2 tbsp oyster sauce 1 tbsp fish sauce 2 tbsp of honey Pinch of black pepper
Garnish (cucumber/purslane/sesame seeds)
EASY STEPS TO COOK: * Lightly cook the shrimps using the butter * Add the onion, garlic and chili * Set aside the rest on the pan, cook the eggs and mix * Put the rice and sauce and give it a good mix * Add the basil leaves
Finally, give it another gentle touch and plate it well!
