At this year’s Blockchain Africa Conference, IOHK CEO Charles Hoskinson said that new agreements on the continent will bring "millions of users" to the Cardano ecosystem.
"We are at the height of business and initiatives this year, which will bring millions of users through public-private partnerships to the Cardano ecosystem."
IOHK, a technology company focused on P2P solutions, is currently working with local governments to integrate Atala PRISM, a digital identity management solution based in Cardano, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Kenya, and other African countries.
"For a large group of people, for the first time in their lives, they will have a digital identity that can also be linked to portfolios, which can also be linked to payment systems, which can also be linked to goods, who can enjoy rich metadata and other similar things."
In May 2018, Cardano signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the government of Ethiopia to use blockchain in the country’s agricultural industry.
