Last monday was one for the books as we celebrated the birthday of my friend’s adorable niece at Lapyahan San Remigio Beach Resort. What made it even more special was that I got to spend it with my favorite people—my friends, the sun, the sea, and of course, endless chika!
We were almost late for lunch because it took us too much time to prepare (girls’ things). Luckily, we arrived before 1:00 pm, but as what we expected, the guests were already eating. We felt a little bit shy because imagine, we had just arrived and we will immediately go to the food area (it’s so embarrassing).
The moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the relaxing sound of the waves and the salty breeze that instantly amazed us and made us even more excited. The setup was simple yet cozy—perfect for a laid-back beach celebration. The scent of delicious food wafted through the air as the birthday spread was being prepared. There were grilled favorites, pancit (of course!), sweet treats, and ice-cold drinks. Every bite was sulit!

We didn't waste time, after we ate, we jumped straight into karaoke mode—because what’s a Filipino gathering without it, right? From classic OPM hits to trending pop songs, we sang our hearts out (some of us even with matching dance moves!). Although we were not really a good singer but no one could stop us (they shouldn't dare🤣).

Of course, in gatherings like this, TikTok will never be forgotten. It seemed like we forgot that there were other guests (majority are in their middle-aged) and they might think we’re crazy. But we still did it though. We hopped on the trends like dance, lipsyncs, and funny actings. That’s how unstoppable we can be when we’re reunited.
In between bites and belting out songs, we had unli chika. From catching up on life updates to throwing jokes and sharing throwback memories, laughter echoed louder than the waves. The ocean view made every moment feel more magical—the blue water stretched endlessly and the cool wind made everything feel peaceful.

As the day slowly ended, we gathered by the shore and waited for the golden hour. The sunset did not disappoint. It was also the one that I was looking forward to witness because the sunsets here are always pretty. The sky turned into a breathtaking painting of orange, pink, and purple. Naturally, we took tons of pictures to capture the beauty and the memories.

It was a simple celebration, but it was full of joy, love, and genuine moments. Celebrating a special day with good food, great views, fun company, and wholesome vibes—that’s a kind of happiness you won’t find just anywhere.
