As I mentioned in my previous blog, our back-to-school event had different booths from different departments and one of those booths were selling photocard.
One of my friends gave me a thoughtful gift which is a card that has a bible verse written on it. It says, “Psalm 73:26, My body and my heart fail, but God is my heart’s rock and my share foreve.I got a teary-eye while reading it because it is so true! Every word written carries honesty and hope. Honesty because it tells that we really have weaknesses—we are not strong all the time and there will be days that our minds and bodies get tired and hearts are weary.

Despite the truth that we are not invincible, it also carries hope. A hope that gently caresses our hearts and whispers, “our strengths is not in ourselves, but in God.” Which reminds us that where we falter, he is steady. Where we are empty, he is full. Where we are broken, he is whole.
I also received a card that has a motivational quote written on it. It says, “everything you lost will be replaced with something better”. I bought it because I agree with what’s written. Sometimes, losing something feels like the universe has taken away a part of us we thought we couldn’t live without. But loss is not always a punishment—it can be a redirection.

What slips from our hands often makes space for what we truly need, even if we don’t see it right away. In time, we come to realize that everything we lost was only clearing the path for something better, something more aligned with who we are becoming. My classmates bought cards too!
Lastly, I received a white and brown yarn from a friend. There was a booth that sell different colors of yarn that corresponds a certain message. For brown, it means “Can we have a coffee together?” For white yarn it means “I am proud of you.” It’s another small but thoughtful gift that matters a lot for me as a sentimental person. It was a message that I have never heard for a long time.

It was just so heart-warming receiving that kind of message even when you are don’t achieve something to prove that you are worthy of receiving those words. Maybe this world really needs more people like them—someone who is still proud of you even if you are doing nothing, fail, and have not achieve something big yet.
I will really treasure those small lovely gifts given to me. Those are the reminders that there are still kind souls existing in this cruel world.
