It’s been raining the whole week in Kota Kinabalu and we had to put on hold our hiking activity.
With less than 2 weeks before our mountain climbing expedition, suddenly I’m having a panic attack! Not sure if all those training will be enough to keep me going to conquer the highest mountain in Malaysia. Not sure if I am prepared physically and mentally for this expedition.
Thankfully today, with some encouragement and push from my husband, I put on my hiking shoes and went to Padang Hill late in the afternoon (despite heavy rain one hour before that).
I am not so familiar with the hiking trail in Padang Hill. As a matter of fact, I did get lost on my way to find the right trail (that I want). There are so many trails and nature pathway in Padang Hill and after almost 7 or 8 years I did not come here, I find it very confusing. And when it rains, the trails can get really muddy and slippery.
The trail that I choose that lead to the 200 steps stair is no fun at all. But as my friend said, this is the best place to train ourselves for the expedition, I just go for it. I did 2 sets of going up and down the stairs and it took me less than 30 minutes to complete the 2 sets.
I’m not gonna lie. At one point I just wish I can stop and go back home but at the same time, I tell myself that I need to do this and I am sure the end result is rewarding.
I am glad that I did it. Sweating makes me feel so good and somehow it assured me that everything is going to be fine.
