Los Enhanced Games son una COMPETICIÓN DEPORTIVA INTERNACIONAL de iniciativa privada de grandes empresarios y capitalistas de alto perfil, y aquí algunos datos sobre ellos:
* Tendrá su primera edición en Las Vegas, en el 2026.
* Su principal característica es que NO PROHIBEN el uso de sustancias, como el dopaje, para mejorar el rendimiento.
* Tendrá compensaciones económicas millonarias para los atletas ganadores.
* Los deportes que están confirmados hasta la fecha son Atletismo, Natación, Halterofilia y Gimnasia.
Tal vez ya supiste de ellos por lo controversial de su premisa, que ha causado un debate sobre el dinero, la tecnología y la ética en el deporte. Y es normal que existan estos debates, ya que el tema es muy novedoso y por los estándares que quiere romper.

* It will have multimillion-dollar financial compensation for the winning athletes.
* The sports confirmed to date are Track and Field, Swimming, Weightlifting, and Gymnastics.
You may have already heard of them because of their controversial premise, which has sparked a debate about money, technology, and ethics in sports. And these debates are normal, given the very new topic and the standards it seeks to break.
**In this post I want to SHARE MY OPINION on some of the criticisms I've heard most about Enhanced Games, which are the following**:
Los atletas hacen una elección de vida que implica un sacrificio total, dedican años a un entrenamiento extenuante, dejando de lado amistades, tiempo en familia y oportunidades educativas. Entonces ¿Por qué criticar a los atletas del Enhanced Games?

Athletes make a life choice that entails total sacrifice, dedicating years to grueling training, forsaking friendships, family time, and educational opportunities. They face intense public pressure and the possibility of injuries that can end their careers overnight. However, most, even those who achieve fame, struggle to secure their financial future. Salaries, sponsorships, and prize money are rarely enough to guarantee a comfortable retirement, leaving many in a precarious situation once their glory days are over.
**This isn't about valuing money over the love of sport**, but rather recognizing that financial compensation is essential to ensuring a secure future for themselves and their families. It's more than likely that your favorite soccer player or F1 driver seeks and demands good financial compensation, and they aren't criticized for it. So why criticize the Enhanced Games athletes?
Tal vez ya conozcas esta foto que está dando la vuelta al mundo, es de Kristian Gkolomeev, un nadador que con solo tres semanas de preparación con sustancias, rompió un récord mundial que se mantuvo por 15 años. You may already be familiar with this photo that's making the rounds around the world. It's of Kristian Gkolomeev, a swimmer who, after just three weeks of substance-based preparation, broke a world record that had stood for 15 years. I've heard criticism that this is just marketing, and maybe it is, because it would definitely be the perfect advertisement for the Enhanced Games because:
* It validates the premise that the Enhanced Games were created to push the human boundaries that traditional sports can no longer achieve.
* It generates conversation about the topic; everyone is talking about it; it's a powerful narrative.
* It attracts the attention of more investors.
* It attracts the attention of more athletes.
**So, I think it should be marketing, and I think it's very valid that it should be**.
Considerar que los Enhanced Games suponen una ventaja para los atletas sobre sus competidores no es correcto, porque todos los participantes de estos nuevos juegos tienen la misma libertad de acceso a sustancias y tecnologías para aumentar su rendimiento. Sería una ventaja competitiva si se pusieran a competir junto a atletas olímpicos a los que se les prohíbe el dopaje.
Estos atletas si bien están rompiendo récords de los atletas tradicionales u olímpicos, están también creando sus propios récords, y tendrán sus propias barreras que romper de ahora en adelante.

To consider the Enhanced Games as an advantage for athletes over their competitors is incorrect, because all participants in these new games have the same freedom of access to performance-enhancing substances and technologies. It would be a competitive advantage if they were to compete alongside Olympic athletes who are prohibited from doping.
These athletes, while breaking records held by traditional or Olympic athletes, are also creating their own records, and will have their own barriers to overcome from now on.
Los atletas del Enhanced Games, además de usar sustancias, también tienen que someterse a entrenamientos intensivos. Es un error pensar que el dopaje por sí solo convierte a alguien en un súper atleta.

Enhanced Games athletes, in addition to using substances, also have to undergo intensive training. It's a mistake to think that doping alone makes someone a super athlete.
The reality is that performance-enhancing substances, like steroids, simply allow athletes to recover faster, train harder, and for longer. Without a demanding training program, a strict diet, and great discipline, these substances would have no effect. They have to dedicate hours to perfecting their technique, following an exercise routine, and maintaining a competitive mindset. So, of course, they are athletes.

This criticism is based on the idea that they are experimenting with their health, but this is not true. Unlike clandestine doping, where athletes turn to dubious sources without medical supervision, the Enhanced Games are promoted as an environment where athlete safety is prioritized.
Ensuring athletes are under professional supervision and that risks are minimized is the only way for the Enhanced Games to endure in the long term. Rather than seeing them as lab rats, it is more accurate to say that they are the protagonists of the next phase in the evolution of sport.
Es importante considerar que el uso de las sustancias permitidas en los Enhanced Games será en un entorno controlado y monitoreado, y esto podría generar una gran cantidad de datos, de información valiosa para la medicina deportiva, y también para la humanidad al tener más comprensión de los límites del cuerpo.

It's important to consider that the use of permitted substances in the Enhanced Games will be in a controlled and monitored environment, and this could generate a wealth of data, valuable information for sports medicine, and also for humanity by gaining a better understanding of the body's limits.
It could lead to a better understanding of muscle recovery, the development of new therapies, new forms of training, and new forms of nutrition, which could be applied to traditional athletes or even the general population. So I consider the contributions to science that we will see in each edition to be very valuable.
Esta crítica es una doble moral, y voy a explicar mi punto poniendo como ejemplo a la Fórmula 1 que creo es perfecta para resaltar la hipocresía de este argumento.La F1 es uno de los deportes más caros del mundo, los equipos invierten cientos de millones de dólares al año en tecnología de punta, investigación y desarrollo, un solo motor puede costar más de 10 millones de dólares, y los salarios de los pilotos de élite son exorbitantes, este gasto es inmenso y se acepta como parte del deporte.
Sin embargo, a la F1 no se le cuestiona su legitimidad por el dinero que mueve, sino que se celebra como la cima de la innovación y la ingeniería. Esta explicación la recuerdo perfectamente porque mi papá siempre la decía cuando yo le criticaba eso a la F1, de la cual él era fanático.
Nadie dice que la F1"no es un deporte de verdad" porque los equipos con más presupuesto tengan más ventaja, se entiende que es parte de la naturaleza de la competencia. El hecho de que el dinero de los Enhanced Games se destine a premiar a los atletas (e inversionistas) y a investigar el potencial humano, en lugar de a un carro, personalmente me parece que le aporta más a la humanidad.

This criticism is a double standard, and I'm going to explain my point by using Formula 1 as an example, which I believe is perfect for highlighting the hypocrisy of this argument. F1 is one of the most expensive sports in the world; teams invest hundreds of millions of dollars a year in cutting-edge technology, research, and development, a single engine can cost over $10 million, and elite drivers' salaries are exorbitant. This expense is immense and accepted as part of the sport.
However, F1's legitimacy isn't questioned because of the money it moves; instead, it's celebrated as the pinnacle of innovation and engineering. I remember this explanation perfectly because my dad always said it when I criticized F1, of which he was a fan.
Nobody says F1 "isn't a real sport" because the teams with the biggest budgets have a bigger advantage; it's just that that's part of the nature of the competition. The fact that the Enhanced Games money is going towards rewarding athletes (and investors) and researching human potential, rather than a car, seems to me to be a greater contribution to humanity.
Los **Enhanced Games** no deben ser vistos como una versión superior o inferior de los Juegos Olímpicos, sino como una propuesta completamente diferente. Mientras que los Juegos Olímpicos celebran el potencial humano dentro de sus límites biológicos naturales (o al menos, supuestamente naturales, porque cómo se explica un atleta excepcional como **Michael Phelps** por ejemplo), los **Enhanced Games** buscan explorar lo que es posible cuando la ciencia y la tecnología se aplican directamente para llevar el rendimiento atlético al siguiente nivel.

The Enhanced Games should not be seen as a superior or inferior version of the Olympics, but as a completely different proposition. While the Olympics celebrate human potential within its natural biological limits (or at least, supposedly natural, because how do you explain an exceptional athlete like Michael Phelps, for example), the Enhanced Games seek to explore what is possible when science and technology are directly applied to take athletic performance to the next level.
I believe that competitions that incorporate advanced technologies represent the evolution of humanity. The future is already here, inviting us to question our biological limits and recognize that the next step in athletic evolution will depend not only on training, but also on science.
