Travel Journal - Japan: Tokyo Camii Mosque

Hi everyone. Hope you all are well as always.  >*edited by Canva* There was one place I really wanted to visit when I went to Japan. This place was once the wedding venue for a celebrity from the capital. I wasn't a fan of the celebrity, but the location, being in a remote area, made me want to go there. So, when I arrived in Japan, I explicitly told my tour guide to take me there. It's a beautiful place in the middle of the city. That place is the Tokyo Camii Mosque… [//]:# (!worldmappin 35.66824 lat 139.67655 long d3scr) Let's get it! ----- **Tokyo Camii Mosque** ----- -----  The Tokyo Camii Mosque is located in Tokyo, making it unlike most mosques with expansive courtyards. While the mosque's structure is indeed magnificent, its size and location among other buildings make it easy to mistake it for a larger one. So far, I've only seen mosques in smaller locations in Tokyo. I can understand this, as Japan has a small Muslim population, so it's understandable that the mosque isn't as large as those in Muslim-majority countries. Nevertheless, I still couldn't pass up the opportunity to explore.    --------  It was a Friday when I arrived, and the mosque was very crowded with worshippers attending Friday prayers. I even waited a few minutes outside the mosque due to the long queue and the constant flow of worshippers who had just finished their Friday prayers. Once the area was quieter and more conducive to tourists, I entered the mosque grounds. I was unable to pray at the time, so I didn't get to experience the worship there. It was a shame, but perhaps there will be a reason to return later.  **Middle-East Vibe** ------  |  |  |  | | ---| ---| ---| Even though you're in Japan, when you enter the main hall of the mosque—where worship takes place—you won't feel like you're in Japan because everything, from the architecture, decorations, and carvings, is so heavily influenced by the Middle East. It reminds me of mosques in Turkey. I really like the decoration and concept of this mosque. The base color is white, with carvings in navy, gold, and maroon. Everything shows an elegant style.  |  |  |  | | ----| ----| ---|  |  |  |  | | ----| -----| ----| When I was in the inner area, I kept looking up to see every carving above. I truly loved this elegant concept. I couldn't help but imagine how happy celebrities would be to have this area as their wedding venue. It must have a very sacred vibe, and I've experienced it myself. The person who created this concept is truly brilliant. -------    I was thrilled to be in a place where such a famous person had once been. If I were him, I would definitely make this mosque the venue for my historic event. Even though I'd been here before, I still hoped to return and pray there. Then, it turned out I hadn't really explored the mosque. It was so crowded that day, I felt a little shy around the crowd.  Anyway... this mosque **Supercalifragilisticexpilidocious!** that I have ever visited....
