Valhalla Dinner (Food Review) [ENG/ESP]
Today I am going to tell you about my experience dining at the bar-restaurant Valhalla located in the city of Zaragoza (Spain) my city. Some time ago I heard about this place and they said good things about it, but I don't know why it had fallen into oblivion and I didn't remember it, until today my friend José Antonio mentioned it to me while we were having a few mugs and we decided to go, the best of all is that he was inviting me as it was my birthday present which was last month.
>Hoy os voy a contar mi experiencia cenando en el bar restaurante Valhalla situado en la ciudad de Zaragoza(España) mi ciudad. Hace tiempo escuche hablar de este lugar y decían cosas buenas de el, pero no se porque había caído en el olvido y no lo recordaba, hasta que hoy mi amigo José Antonio mientras tomábamos unas jarras me lo mencionó y decidimos ir, lo mejor de todo es que invitaba el ya que era mi regalo de cumpleaños que fue el mes pasado.
As soon as I entered I was surprised by the Viking-inspired decoration, the stools lined with imitation animal skins, Viking horns, paintings, a television in the background with the image of a fireplace, all quite cosy.
>Nada mas entrar me sorprendió la decoración con inspiración vikinga, los taburetes forrados con imitación de pieles de animales, cuernos vikingos, cuadros, una televisión al fondo con la imagen de una chimenea, todo bastante acogedor.
After the introductions to the place we started with the important part: the dinner. To start with, while we had a look at the restaurant's menu, we ordered a couple of bottles of Valhalla mead with an original flavour, accompanied by a horn to drink it from. The menu has starters to choose from such as potatoes, pig's ear and snout, empanadas and a few other things. They also have meats to choose from such as ribs, hot dogs (they call them lobitos) and hamburgers.
>Terminadas las presentaciones del local empezamos con lo importante: La Cena. Para empezar mientras echábamos un vistazo la carta del restaurante pedimos un par de botellas de hidromiel Valhalla sabor original como no acompañadas de un cuernos para beberlas de ahí. La carta tienen entrantes para elegir como patatas variadas, oreja y morro de cerdo, empanadas y alguna que otra cosa mas. También tienen carnes para elegir como costillas, perritos calientes que les llaman lobitos y hamburguesas.
So we started with the starter. We chose the Valhalla fries made up of fried wedge potatoes, pico de gallo, cheddar cheese sauce and larded pork, a great tasty combination that made these fries literally fly off the table.
>Así que empezamos con el entrante. Elegimos las patatas Valhalla compuestas de patatas gajo fritas, pico de gallo, salsa queso cheddar y carne mechada de cerdo, una gran combinación sabrosa que hizo que estas patatas volaran literalmente de la mesa.
We continued with the main course, I opted for the burger called Thor. The burger is made of black Angus beef, larded pork, straw potatoes and Jack Daniel's barbecue sauce.
>Continuamos con el plato principal, yo me decante por la hamburguesa llamada Thor. La hamburguesa es de carne de ternera black Angus, carne mechada de cerdo, patatas paja y salsa barbacoa al Jack Daniel´s.
My friend José Antonio chose the Loki burger composed of two black angus beef cheeseburgers, fried egg white topping, egg yolk cream, melted cheddar cheese and bacon.
>Mi amigo José Antonio eligió la hamburguesa Loki compuesta de dos cheeseburguer de ternera black angus, puntilla de clara de huevo frito, crema de yema de huevo, queso cheddar fundido y bacon.
The food was great, it lasted an instant because of how good everything was, but there was still one thing left for the end.... The dessert!!! this time we went for the winning card so we ordered the cheesecake, super creamy, accompanied by a red fruit sauce.
>La comida estaba estupenda, nos duró instante de lo bueno que estaba todo pero aun quedaba una cosa para el final... El postre!! esta vez fuimos a por la carta ganadora así que nos pedimos tarta de queso, super cremosa, acompañada de una salsa de frutos rojos.
