Lovely day, everyone ❣️
Sometimes, all we really need is a bit of fresh air and a quiet place to reflect.. That’s exactly what led me to Plaza Libertad today. Nestled in the heart of Iloilo City, this historic plaza offered the perfect blend of calmness and charm.
As I arrived, I was instantly welcomed by the spacious walkways,, wide, clean, and perfect for a leisurely stroll. The patterned paths made walking around a pleasure, and the greenery surrounding them added an extra touch of serenity. You can tell the city has put effort into making this public space welcoming for everyone.
🕯️ The Lamp Posts That Caught My Eye
While walking around, something unexpected caught my attention,, the lamp posts... These weren’t just your typical street lights.. Each post stood tall and elegant, painted black with a classic, almost vintage design.. They blended perfectly with the park’s timeless vibe.
Out of curiosity and appreciation, I started taking photos of the lamp posts from different spots around the plaza... Some stood beside thick trees with winding roots, others were surrounded by neatly trimmed plants or positioned near old stone structures and benches.
Each lamp post seemed to tell a silent story,, maybe about the countless people who’ve passed by, the nights it’s lit up for late walkers, or the quiet moments it’s witnessed.
What I loved most about this short visit was the atmosphere.. Despite being in the city center, Plaza Libertad offers a peaceful escape...
People were sitting on benches, chatting quietly or just enjoying the shade of the tall trees.. It reminded me that we don’t always need to go far to find a moment of peace,, sometimes it's right within our city.

Next time you feel like you need a break, I highly recommend taking a stroll around your local plaza. And if you're in Iloilo, don't skip Plaza Libertad. Who knows? You might just find inspiration in something as simple as a lamp post.
