🌴 A Surprise Beach Day – unfinished hotdogs, waves & kids' smiles

@vvodjiu · 2025-09-03 16:42 · Family & Friends

This weekend started like any other lazy Saturday... I was preparing a very late breakfast (yes, I said breakfast) at 10:30 AM. Just me, a hotdog, and a steaming cup of coffee enjoying some peace and quiet. Or so I thought..

Ring ring! 📞

It’s my sister.

“We're on the way to pick you up. We’re going to the beach!”

What?! 😱

I looked at my half-eaten hot dog undecided.. My coffee was still hot, still full, and I was still in pajamas.. But there was no time for drama. I quickly turned to my husband and daughter and said the five magic words:

“Pack your bags. We’re swimming.” 🤣

My husband blinked twice, confused but obedient. He ran around grabbing towels, snacks, swimsuits—probably even the whole pantry 😂..

Meanwhile, my daughter (the little detective) bombarded me with her usual round of questions:

“Why?? How?? When?? Who??” 🤪

Girl, I had no answers.. I had a hotdog to finish and a coffee to chug. I shoved the rest of the hotdog into my mouth like a secret mission and ran upstairs for my swimsuit and sunscreen.

🌊 At the Beach – Chaos & Cuteness 🩵

When we arrived, the sun was doing the most... It was HOT...

The kind of hot that makes you question your life choices. But my nieces didn’t care.. they were already in full beach mode, rocking their cute little swimwear and exploring every inch of the place like two tiny Dora the Explorers.

look at that little ninja running 😍

Then we found a children’s playground near the beach. Jackpot!

The kids ran to the swings faster than my daughter runs away when I say “clean your room.” 😅

Now, let me paint you a picture.

Two swings.

Two sisters.

One very bossy little one.

Leera, the youngest, decided that only she should sit on the swing. Her swing. Her kingdom. No peasants allowed. Poor Lena, the eldest, stood there looking heartbroken. So, my sister gently scooped up Queen Leera and took her for a walk, giving Lena the royal playground treatment she deserved.

I took this quiet moment to snap some photos, because when kids aren’t screaming or throwing sand, it’s a golden opportunity for proof of fun.

🍱 Lunchtime & Splash Attack

After lunch (a mix of sandwiches, chips, and whatever snacks survived the car ride), we finally hit the water. The kids were ready for those picture-perfect beach shots,, you know, the ones with them sitting sweetly on the sand, smiling like tiny angels.

But the ocean had other plans.

Right as we positioned them just right, a big wave came out of nowhere and SPLASHED them both in the face. It was chaos. Hair in their eyes, water up their noses, Lena laughed while shouting “It splashed me!!” and Leera screaming like a little villain..

We didn’t get the perfect shot. But we got something better,, a memory.

A wet, sandy, salty, hilarious memory 🥰

🏁 The Ride Home

By the time we packed up, the kids were sun-kissed and sleepy, with sand stuck in every place sand should not be. My husband fell asleep on the ride home (no surprise there), my daughter finally stopped asking questions, and I was back to dreaming of that hotdog I never got to finish.

So always remember,,

Always be ready. You never know when your hotdog breakfast will turn into a surprise beach day.

Thanks for reading! Tune in next time for more unexpected family chaos, overly honest children, and moms trying to keep it all together one coffee at a time 😘
