đź‘‹ Hello Hivers, how's Your Wednesday Going?
I spent mine walking through the aftermath of Typhoon Tino (international name is Kalmaegi).. It wasn't the peaceful, sunny walk I usually take!! It was like the wind decided to play a very chaotic game of Jenga with our whole neighborhood..
🌳 I walked along the same path I always do,, but everything looked completely different.. The green around us was still vibrant,, but now it was a tangled mess of broken branches and uprooted trees..

You could see where the strong winds had literally ripped branches off the main trunks..
The area looked like a jungle that got a sudden, very rough haircut.. Trees that stood tall just days ago were now lying down, showing off their roots like they’d been suddenly pulled out of bed..
The hardest sight was seeing the damage to the places we know well.. I passed by the community garden and honestly, it’s almost wiped out.. All that hard work just got flattened by the storm..
A lot of the banana plants fell over.. Their huge, lovely leaves were shredded and crumpled on the ground like green tissue paper..

We won’t be getting any fruit from those guys soon!!
And then there was the old guava tree.. This one hurt.. My daughter loved to climb it when she was little,, and now it’s just lying on the ground,, a giant, brown knot of wood.. It’s sad to see a small piece of our family history knocked over like that..

Now it's time to say goodbye to the guava tree ..

🍊 The Citrus Casualties

Even the fruit trees couldn’t hold onto their bounty..
Everywhere I looked, I saw fruit scattered across the damp earth..

The beautiful pomelo fruits were everywhere.. Some were big and bright yellow-green,, but others were still young and tiny.. The unripe ones can’t be salvaged,, they’re just a casualty of the storm..
I even spotted a few of the smaller green citrus fruits still hanging on the stem..

It’s crazy to see how much strength a typhoon has,, but it’s also amazing how quickly people start working together to clean up and rebuild.. Nature is tough and we have to be tougher!!
That's all for now.. I hope everything will be green and blooming soon..
