Hey, everyone!! What's up? Hope your day is going better than my attempts at making a gourmet meal (spoiler,, it was just cereal) 😁
Anyway,, I had a little wander today and saw a couple of buildings that actually made me stop and stare.. these were old buildings but was made beautiful again..
A Colorful Blast from the Past
First up, there's this commercial building right near the City Hall..
It's clearly one of the older guys in the neighborhood but it’s had a serious glow-up.. They repainted it with bright, happy blocks of color around the windows,, blues, oranges and reds..
It's like the architectural equivalent of putting on your favorite wacky socks.. You can tell it’s an old-school structure but the fresh paint job makes it look so inviting and playful..
It proves you don't need to knock things down,, sometimes all you need is a fresh coat of paint and a little imagination to make something old feel totally new again..
It's almost inspiring,, like maybe I can reinvent myself by just wearing a different hat.. 😏
The New look of Iloilo City Hall
Then there's the Iloilo City Hall..
This place is the definition of sturdy and important.. I mean, just look at it,, the city has done a great job keeping it up over the years.. with those huge arched windows and that big clock,,
It's the kind of building that makes you stand a little straighter when you walk past.. It feels solid and useful, like a really good, heavy-duty toolbox.. 😁
I took pictures of both in both colored and classic black and white, because I couldn't decide which look was better,, the fun, vibrant new version or the cool, dramatic old-movie look..
Honestly, sometimes the simple things,, like admiring two very different but very cool buildings,, are the best part of the day..
Thanks for dropping by..
Have a wonderful day..
