I was going for a post a day, missed one and it turned into 5 days without posting 😅. I got carry away by the good spirit of hivefest and didn't keep my schedule, slacking a bit. Let's end this, yesterday I moved out of KL into a new city on the island of Borneo. After a more relaxing and travel day yesterday, time to get back into writing. Currently writing the start of this post in a dunking donut with a nice ice coffee, weather is hot outside, a bit too much UV light for me so I am hiding for the next hour.
Saturday beer night
Following my last post about hivefest https://peakd.com/hivefest/@walterjay/hivefest-chainculture-2025-2nd-conference-day and https://peakd.com/hivefest/@walterjay/hivefest-first-day-quick-update
Both conferences days are over and it was time for beer Saturday but first an early departure for the Batu Caves with @macchiata to catch up with the others that went by bus.
We went another route, taking the train from the old Kuala Lumpur station (not KL central) which is connected to Pasar Seni and chinatown via a walkable bridge.

We wanted to stop for coffee before catching the train but started talking and forgot about it so we got to the station very early and the train for Batu doesn't come that after, We wanted to take one around 9am but it turned to 9:20+ am or something. We were suppose to arrive at the same time as the bus but got there a bit later.
Maybe some hives can spot themselves going up the stairs :)

I went up and met some people, had nice conversations, still talking about hive and crypto and thanks god a guy was selling coffee up there and it was my first of the day, wanted it even more after all those stairs.
After going down we went to get a coffee nearby before going for lunch, we were like 8 or so that decided to stay and we went back by train together after the trip, some went to visit a museum but I return at my hotel to rest a bit during the afternoon before going out again for beer Saturday.
Beersaturday
This year beer Saturday happened at BB Wine Houz, unfortunately I didn't take any pictures but I saw some around the blockchain. I didn't stay too long, had like 2 Guiness.
With a small party we went to KLCC park at night to take some nice pictures of the Petronas towers illuminated.

After it was time to head back, had one last unscheduled stop at a cocktails bar that macchiata found earlier that day (or the previous one), tried a few and called it a night. The had cocktails "on tap", it was an interesting concept, it was a really peaceful place that closed at midnight sharp (yeah they threw us out, we stayed until the last minute). The place is called Neighbour Club by JWC in chinatown and if you are coming back to KL, it might be your vibe, try it out.
Sunday morning was going to be peaceful anyway, not much scheduled except the closing dinner and drinks with all of Hivefest.
