Whoever told us that money can't buy happiness wronged us big time. When I remember how much I get overjoyed whenever I see money enter my account, I get convinced that, at some degree, money is linked to happiness. Yes, money is just a tool to help us get by in life, but we can agree that if that tool is limited, it breeds frustrations.
With money in your wallet, comes a contentment of some kind, and with that contentment, peace follows and where peace follows, so do happiness and joy. Sometimes, I love to daydream. What if I had a hundred million in my account? I would be writing this post somewhere in Malibu, sipping champagne, grinning from ear to ear, because it'd feel great being there.😂 I wouldn't worry about waking up to go to work, where I know that at the end of the month, my salary might not cover all my bills. And nothing can make one go crazy like bills. But the moment all essentials are provided for, stress leaves the room for peace to reign over.
You can have all the other things; health, love, family, that bring us happiness and meaning/purpose. But even with all the love in the world, to keep that boat afloat, money has to enter the picture.
Money is some kind of medicine when it comes to life and relieving stress and frustrations. I once thought that money was the root of all evil, but as I grow wiser and learned about this tool, money, I disagree with that saying. Lack of money is the root of all evil. Or rather, greed is the root of all evil.
There's this fine line between having freedom that comes with having money, and having greed for more money. When we enter greed in the picture, then no amount of money can bring us happiness. When I support the saying money can buy happiness, I mean, money accompanied by contentment can buy freedom, which in return breeds happiness.
Maybe we tend to focus on the wrong thing when soothing our empty accounts, and end up labeling those with the money we want, as unhappy, while we, are the unhappy ones.
