Ah yes, the capital of Slovenia. The gorgeous city Ljubljana, with population of about 300.000 people and total area of 164 square kilometers.
This city again proves how full of love Slovenians are - besides the noticeable word LOVE in the name of our country(sLOVEnia), the name Ljubljana actually translates as "the loved one".
I grew up in a city (Kamnik) that is located just about 20 km from Ljubljana. I didn't go there too often but the last time I went was in 2019 and loved it. It's such an amazing place to visit and has a special charm. Hence why I think black and white pictures are perfect for it, adding an extra bit of charm and special effect.
So this is also my entry for the #monomad challenge.
There are 12 museums you can find in the city and they are all located quite close to each other.
Must see attractions are of course Ljubljanica river, which is impossible to miss as the city is centred around it and you can enjoy a nice walk by the river, sit down at a cafe or restaurant for a drink and some food or go on a little boat tour.
The city is full of nice boutique and souvenir shops, more restaurants, cafes and there is a market that happens every week where you can try out some tasty local specialties. Definitely must visit is a place called 'Klobasarna" where you can try the traditional Kransky sausage.
And try the dessert called "smorn" at the markets.
To get the most amazing view make sure to visit "Neboticnik", the skyscraper bar and restaurant (on the 12th floor of a 1930s building which was the tallest in the Balkans until WWII).
As the final post in 2021 why not remember those wonderful times spent with family and friends.
Finishing off with one colour photo so you can see the amazing colours Ljubljana offers.
Thanks for watching Hive tribe, see you next time - next year!
All the best to you all, peace and love,
Kat
