In 2017, I joined steemit, not knowing how much that act would change my life. When hive chain forked from steemit, I followed the train and continued to create content here. Hive became a lab where I tested my theories on writing, on possibilities and I did things with fiction that I am not sure I can replicate again. It was on this platform, I learnt what cryptocurrency meant, what blockchain technology meant, what content creation meant. It was here I learnt what it meant to vote, to stake, the very essence of attention economy which is now being popularised by projects like Kaito and Wallchain on X these days. It was about relationships. It was about building community in ways that we shared in the glory and the gloom and it was good. Yes it was good. In the process, the shy young man, who did not trust his voice, his sense of the world, found his voice and made lifelong friends. He also found persons who respected his craft and showed it. @tarazkp thank you for everything. @erodedthoughts I have never forgotten you. You supported me long before I became popular on here. @airhawk-project, one of the best Nigerian communities, I continually greet you. @samest twale baba. @zizymena, thank you for showing me a path. There are so many persons whose names or handles, time and memory will not let me mention. All of you I am grateful. Since I have been here, I have won awards on mainstream writing journals, grown into a better and confident poet. I have left fiction alone but that heat still burns in my bones. Why am I saying all of these? If you take a look at my account, you will notice that I have powered and moved almost all my hive. I have sold them to survive real life trials. It is what it is. I am thankful I even had this nest egg to depend on in trying times. I am sunsetting this account and this will be my last post here. I am saying good bye. I must not forget steemmonsters (presently splinterlands). Your game nfts and tokens saved my life in 2022 and again in 2024. Utility remains the beauty of this space. Solving financial problems. No matter where I go in the blockchain space, hive will remain my one true home. It will be the place I will look back at with fond eyes and maybe regret about the things I hoped to achieve that did not come to pass. To those who are discovering this amazing place for the first time, who are learning of @leofinance and the amazing stuff they are shipping out, I wish you all the best. Grind it hard. Grind because it is beautiful, not because you are hungry. I know you are. We get very hungry sometimes and dare anything. Dare this one. Dare it and watch the change. All is well that ends well. So to you Hive, I say sayanora.
