Be The Light. My Desire To Be Bold.

Charlie Kirk.

I wanted to say his name first because it is the catalyst of why I am back on here. It's his death that as ignited inside me a fire to shout from the rooftops that the world is burning down around us and that we all need Jesus.

It's been 25 days since he was murdered. The pit in my stomach still burns. I've gone through such a range of emotions since September 10th, 2025. But it's taken me this long to sort out my thoughts and to understand that I need to get back to writing. It's the biggest and best platform I have to share the name of Jesus.

I used to write on this platform all the time under another username. I'm not even going to mention it because it's filled with a bunch of things that don't matter. The only thing that matters to me is that I can share the gospel with as many people that need to hear it.

So I've created a new profile; one that will speak the name of Jesus from the rooftops (so to speak).

I was at church today and before service began, I was speaking with a woman and we were discussing how difficult it is to send our kids out into public schools considering the world we live in. At the same time recognizing that it's incredibly important that our kids are raised to stand firm on the truth of the gospel and to take that truth and be bold in areas that need to hear it the most. To reach the lost. After all, we are called to be the light!

It reminded me of this verse from Luke....

After all, a lamp is lit to give light. Jesus' sense of humour here always makes me smile. Who would be foolish enough to light a lamp and put it under a table? It would be useless, right? It's purpose is to go into dark places and light them up.

In Matthew 5:14 Jesus tells His disciples "You are the light of the world".

My friends, He is talking to us. When Jesus refers to us as salt or light, He is using those as metaphors to speak of the impact we as believers are called to have on this world. If we are not sharing the gospel, telling people about Jesus and living our lives as if we carry the literal living light inside of us, than we are useless as a lamp under a table!

I promise you, I am preaching this as much to myself as I am to the reader. We need to do better. The world is in real trouble. You and I both know the only thing that can truly save us is Jesus Christ. We know this because we too were once in the dark!

We need to be the light! Another thing a light does is it draws attention to it! Picture yourself in a dark room. It's pitch black. You can't see your hand in front of your face. All of a sudden, off in the distance you see a glimmer. As it gets closer and closer, it gets brighter and brighter. At this point, you can feel the warmth off of the light and it envelopes you. It's all you can focus on in this dark room!

If you have Christ in you, then you not only have that light inside of you but you have an obligation to shine it.

Charles Spurgeon once said, “The Bible is not the light of the world, it is the light of the Church. But the world does not read the Bible, the world reads Christians! “You are the light of the world.””

We are the church. We are the light. Shine bright!
