Does anyone agree with me that art is the perfect way to capture time and memory? I love ti look at this drawing because of how it takes me back to a very specific moment in my art journey. I can clearly remember this was only my 3rd attempt at realism and honestly at that point I didn’t even fully know what I was doing I just knew I wanted to challenge myself and see what i could achieve. I used both pencils and biro ink and it was also my first trial using both specific medium, i know it didnt come out so perfectly like my other tries and even my present day art standard but still it is one of my favorite. It makes me smile because I see growth in it, I see where I started from and also felt the joy in that moment i had when i was able to reproduce such striking resemblance with bare materials. it reminds me that skill isn’t something that appears overnight it’s something that develops gradually, it was also a clear proof that I could try something completely new and actually finish it and to me that’s worth holding on to.
