This eggplant portrait is still in progress, the strokes are incomplete, not fully blended and the details are only beginning to reveal themselves but that’s exactly why I chose to post it.
For me hyperrealism isn’t only about arriving at the final polished piece but respecting the quiet journey of patience mistakes and correction along the way.
A fruit as ordinary as an eggplant might seem like a simple subject but when you slow down and really study it you notice how complex it truly is. I found out a lot of light reflection around the curves, the purple black skin and the shapeless stem, trust me it was quite tough to even come up with an outline
In my eyes it represents resilience because it is something grown from the soil and its often overlooked but always nourishing.
