We woke up one overcast day in Sao Paulo Brazil on a mission to visit the Legendary Bless Skateshop (@blessskateshop) for the first time. This post is about our session at the Letter Soup DIY that is right up the street from there. A new Skatehive user @brunodias631 just posted an intro post and showed some process videos of him actually making the spot.
Ive wanted to skate that handrail for so long, seeing this spot in so many FEED posts on skatehive. The handrail is DIY and was installed by the skaters. The graffiti at this spot looks too fucking sick on camera!
One thing i wanted to take a picture of because i thought it was weird, was how this public park is actually some kind of freemason park haha.
Its cool to merge "secret society" vibes with public skate DIY vibes ya feel me?
Its a super fun spot and the bank they built lines you up perfectly with the handrail or the stairset. its a training Facility for sure! I wish i had the chance to skate this a second time.
Some excellent camera work by @xvlad today, ill have to remember to add him as a beneficiary on this post lol.
Vlad helped explain to Bless skateshop they should have a sick SKATEHIVE computer terminal as an onboarding tool for skatehiive. We were at the shop before skating the LETTER SOUP just to say hi. Bless was cutting some hair so we went to skate and he met up with us on his lunch break and we returned to the shop after getting some amazing burgersssss...
Oh! but back to the session at hand...
Vlad and I both stacked some clips. We ended it by waxing and skating the Gnoggles planter i think @willdias and the gang created. I think they wrote a gnars proposal to upgrade this spot. i'm not sure if they added the mellow slope that you can ride onto the planter from, or not.
Its a rad DIY and the background of the clips look so good from the graffiti. I'm surprised more Sao Paulo skaters don't stack clips here.
I'm excited to share this session with @blessskateshop because when he arrived at the spot we were kinda done skating.
Another note! I woke up the morning of this day in the air bnb with vlad and for SOME strange reason had the song Blew, by Nirvana in my head. We made some coffee and i NEVER play songs on the bluetooth speaker, but I put on Blew by Nirvana at home before we left for the shop. I also introduced vlad to the Pixies like never before haha.
The strangest thing happened because at Bless, HE put that Nirvana song on. of all songs? It was cool. it was a spiritual synchronicity. So I used that song for the edit and it turned out rad!
