This was the Vaz Lobo miniramp in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro.

My friend Marllon and I loved the fact that this skate park was close to our house and it was really good.

The transition perfect; the floor was as smooth as the floors in school classrooms. We used to arrive at the rink between 8 a.m. and only leave at 1 p.m., thus contributing to local activities and the movement in that area, since few people used the skate park, and it was very sparsely frequented, by people who mostly went there just to use drugs and sometimes make some elaborate plan to commit a crime or commit scams. These ideas are completely wrong and different from the skaters' ideas about occupation, preservation, and maintenance of the environments we occupy.

That day, we arrived very early, as always, but it was raining heavily, so we brought a broom, a mop, and an old shirt to dry the park so we could skate, even if only a little.
It took a little work but we managed to dry the track, and the skate session began
However, as promised by the weather, the rain began to fall again.
We took shelter to eat some fruit we bought at the nearby outdoor market.

That was the last time we skated at this skate park.

The other day, I heard that they tore down the park de skate to get rid of the people who used to go there to use drugs.
The skaters are the ones who never went there anymore, because drug users still hang out there to this day.
