@wellsforall's had a wonderful and inspirational week based on facts and stories about clean water and good health. On social media, we were able to spread the word about many of the issues related to clean water and how having clean drinking water can positively affect the lives of people living in rural communities in Ghana.
We posted about the difficult realities faced by people due to the lack of clean water. Many of us do not realise how much danger comes from drinking from unsafe water supplies and how much it affects women, children and other families who need help. We looked at health statistics from Ghana, Africa and around the world and showed that millions of people are still suffering from waterborne illnesses such as cholera, diarrhoea, typhoid fever and dysentery, all of which could be completely prevented if they had access to clean drinking water.
Also, throughout the week, we were able to highlight the positive results from the boreholes funded by the Hive Blockchain. Boreholes are not simply a way to get clean water to people. They provide a source of clean water, improve health, increase the sense of dignity and provide hope to those people who live near them.
The most important fact we wanted to share was that in the communities where the boreholes are located, there has been a reduction in waterborne illness of approximately 60 percent. A reduction of 60 percent means fewer children will be sick, less time will be spent walking to find water, fewer deaths will be caused by preventable illnesses, and more time will be available for education, employment and development. That is not just progress. That is transformation.
We are very proud at WellsForAll to be able to share these successes with the world. Every post, every story, every update we shared during the week was a testament to the power of technology combined with compassion and community coming together. The Hive Blockchain has shown us that innovation can be used to change lives and improve the quality of life, but it does not end on a screen or digital space; it brings water, health and hope.
As we move into the next week, we continue to tell the stories of success and expand the positive impact of the project.
