Welcome back to day two of my 12 Days of Christmas Precious Metals Wishlist! Yesterday we kicked things off with the humble hero of every stack: junk silver. Today, we’re stepping things up just a notch, moving away from worn and well-circulated coins, and into the shiny world of low-budget bullion. These are the coins that don’t break the bank but still add a little sparkle to your stack.

When I say “entry-level,” I’m talking about those 1oz silver coins that usually hover just a few pounds above spot. Nothing fancy, nothing overly collectible, but still something you can proudly hold and admire. Coins like the Silver Britannia, Austrian Philharmonic, or Canadian Maple Leaf fit the bill perfectly. They’re well-known, globally trusted, and easy to sell or trade if the time ever comes.

Then there are the coins from private mints, rounds featuring generic designs, often themed around liberty, wildlife, or classic motifs. They might not carry a face value or royal crest, but they still contain that all-important ounce of .999 fine silver. These are the perfect “filler coins” for any stacker wanting to add weight without the collector premium.

I’ve always said there’s a real satisfaction in stacking these affordable bullion coins. They’re simple, timeless, and give that reassuring clink when you hold a handful together. Plus, they make ideal Secret Santa gifts for fellow stackers, valuable enough to be appreciated, yet not so expensive that you wince while wrapping them up!

So, that’s day two ,low-budget, entry-level bullion coins that bridge the gap between junk silver and the higher-end collectibles we’ll be exploring as the days go on. Tomorrow, we’ll move up another rung on the Christmas stacking ladder and take a look at something with a little more flair. Stay tuned, stackers!
