This weekend was different and fun, thanks to one of the most anticipated events in my city: the Banana Festival! An event full of history, culture, and, above all, a lot of fun. After all, the city of Corupá is well known by its bananas 🍌.

On Saturday morning we decided to spend some quality time with family, so I went with my husband, my brother, my sister-in-law and my niece to see how everything was shaping up. You could already feel the festive vibe in the air. By the time we arrived, the atmosphere was still pretty calm, perfect for strolling without too much of a crowd. We ventured into the first exhibitions and began seeing food stands getting ready, while organizers made the final touches.

There were stalls with handmade pieces, from thread work to beautiful objects crafted from wood. The artisans were there showcasing their skills, and I could see how every detail was carefully crafted. I was amazed by the creativity and dedication they put into each piece, and it was definitely one of the most interesting things I saw that day.

One thing that really caught my attention was the huge bunches of green bananas on display. Local producers were showcasing their best harvests, and it was impressive to see the quantity and size of the bunches. Without a doubt, it was one of the most authentic and representative images of the Banana Festival.

There was also a variety of games, a small inflatable park for the kids, and for the adults, the dreaded mechanical bull. We were also lucky to witness some kids do some tradicional dances from Germany, since German culture is very present here in the south of Brazil, I found it very cute.

After walking around the place, we decided it was time to grab a bite, and we came across a Mexican food cart. It was my first time trying Mexican food, and even though I wanted to try everything at once, I only ordered some tacos because I planned to come back later that night. I found them pretty good, although I’m not a huge fan of guacamole. We also had churros since we were craving something sweet, and then we headed home.

Almost forgot to mention the impressive car displays along the street, with vehicles from various brands, shapes and colors, as well as the motorcycles. It was a great opportunity to admire them.

#### ***Later that night...***
At night, the whole family gathered to enjoy the festival even more. The town center was packed with people, as the food and live music attracted a lot of crowds. It was beautiful to see the city so full of life, and there was even a man dressed as a banana! I didn’t waste any time and went to try more Mexican food; this time, I ordered some nachos and tacos, which we paired with some refreshing drinks.

The live music really lifted the atmosphere, and what I loved most was that they not only played songs in Portuguese but also included tracks in English, many of them classic rock hits from bands like Queen and Bon Jovi. It was amazing, and I was able to enjoy them and sing along too.
We took my niece to the inflatable park and ended the night in laughter, as my cousin, my husband, and my brother dared to ride the mechanical bull. It was so much fun watching them try to hold on, but time and time again, the bull threw them off 🤣.

Overall, the Banana Festival was a delightful and joyful experience, filled with great music, unique flavors, and unforgettable family moments. We definitely won't miss it next year 🤗🍌.
