Losing Momentum: Day Four of My Raw Food Challenge

Hello hive family, how are we doing today?

It’s day four of my raw food challenge, and honestly, I’m feeling a bit low today.

I worked late into the night yesterday, and hunger crept in because I had an early dinner. I didn’t hesitate to grab my leftover vegetable salad from the fridge and munched on some cashew nuts. This morning, I had a great bowel movement as usual, which made me feel lighter.

However, I started experiencing some mild sickle cell crisis pain. I took my opioid painkillers to manage it and drank hibiscus tea since it’s a busy day. Unfortunately, as it often happens with opioids, I ended up vomiting the tea. Afterwards, I felt weak, lost my appetite, and craved cooked food even more.

Honestly, the temptation to quit has been real. Some participants in the group have already confessed to combining raw and cooked meals, and for a moment, I thought I should do the same. But on second thought, I’ve come this far, and I don’t want to back out now.

From my experience so far, I believe raw foods are amazing for providing powerful nutrients, but balance is key. Going strictly raw for too long can feel limiting. The real win, I think, is learning to enjoy both raw and cooked foods in a balanced way.

That said, I seriously miss cooked meals, and I’ve already started planning my first cooked dish after the challenge ends tomorrow evening (lol).

For dinner tonight, I blended a smoothie with bananas, watermelon, cucumber, beetroot, pineapple, and apple, and I’ll pair it with some groundnuts.

Today wasn’t as lively as the previous days, but I’m glad I still showed up. Hopefully, tomorrow’s mood will be brighter.

Thanks for reading, and good evening!
