Hi ladies 💕
First off, this prompt cracked me up. It’s so unserious but so real at the same time. Like, imagine me dropped in some wild “survivor-man” type situation, no phone, no Wi-Fi, no access to fried plantain (yes, that’s where my mind goes). The real question is: how long would I actually last?
See, part of me wants to say I’d thrive. I’d like to believe I have this inner warrior energy, the type to tie palm leaves into some avant-garde dress (I didn't grow up watching Barbie fashion fairytale for nothing), build a shelter that could pass for a Pinterest board (Madagascar style), and strut around like, “Yeah, I was born for this.”
But then my realistic brain speaks up. Day 1, I’d definitely hype myself up, adrenaline high, spirit unshaken. I’d talk to the trees, give myself pep talks like, “Girl, we're in this together.”
By Day 2, hunger and mosquitoes would humble me FAST. The sun alone would have me questioning my life choices. I’d probably spend hours debating if certain leaves were edible, only to give up and cry about wanting fried plantain (again).
Day 3? Whew. That’s when you’d find me naming coconuts and giving them sermons. “Listen babe, it’s you and me now.” My survival would no longer be about strength, it’d be pure stubbornness. The kind of stubbornness that says, “I refuse to let mosquitoes write my obituary.”, ha ha. Also, I'd probably write SOS in the sand about 50 times per hour, hoping someone pops by and saves me.
And if no one's coming to save me? Talking from experience, my survival instinct is very strong, so, I'll definitely find my way out, one way or the way.
So how long would I last? Honestly, somewhere between three days and a week. Long enough to put up a fight, short enough to admit that I need civilization. Let’s not lie, resilience is in me, but I also like my comfort too much to pretend I’d survive a whole month in the wild.
Now, about the second part of this prompt, celebrity look-alike. This one’s interesting because people have told me more than once that I look like Asa, the Nigerian-French musician. And honestly, I don't see it. But hey, I feel proud that people somehow see the legend's face in mine.
It's beautiful.
