WHAT HAPPENS IF A MAN MEETS BOREDOM? HE KILLS IT WITH COFFEE.

My class was dismissed earlier than usual today, and since it is Saturday, going home early is not an option for me. There are also many visitors in our house, so I don’t want to go home because it would mean conversing with them, and my social battery is not yet prepared and ut would just create boredom. Instead of heading to the house, I decided to treat myself for this week's performance. We had a lot of research this year—at least three for this semester—and it occupies our free time.  But today, I don’t want to get stuck in my room looking for related literature while getting bored. I have to free myself from screen time and debrief myself from what is currently happening.  I decided to go to Uncle Brew, a cafe just near my school, approximately a 10-minute ride. It was newly opened just a few months ago, but I haven’t tried their pastries and coffee yet. Now is the time to visit it and not miss a single chance of experiencing their cozy little cafe that struck many coffee lovers by the time it opened. I heard the staff are approachable and welcoming too, so not giving it a try equates to not entertaining humanity itself.   When I arrived, this was the front interior of the cafe, painted in brown and white colors that added to how calming the dine-in was. The cafe has a good design, but what made it beautiful is that it added some landscaping as part of the front display. But I would suggest, if given a chance, to tend more to it and give the landscape more make-up to attract many cafe lovers. But just the interior and location of the place are good enough. Maybe some touch of another design would be good.   I headed directly to the counter to place my order, and a staff greeted me with an authentic smile. The gossip is true—the staff at Uncle Brew are kind and compassionate. I saw the available drinks and pastries on the screen. There, I found their signature lattes, coffee, cheesecake, frappuccino, and milk teas. They had plenty of available pastries too, and I guessed all are great in taste.  I ordered their Creamy Matcha Frappe for 79 pesos and also had some iced cappuccino latte for takeout. For the pairing, I ordered waffles and regular fries. They were plenty but good timing, as I was so hungry last time that I could eat a horse. After I settled my order, I searched for a good spot to maximize my cafe experience. I decided to sit near the glass to have some light because the wind was a little frigid earlier since Typhoon Opong had just settled itself outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. I should have visited this cafe yesterday, but yesterday was the landfall of the typhoon. It is good to have coffee, but too risky to go out—I’m afraid the wind would drag me. LOL.   I waited for minutes before my order arrived. I just looked around the cafe and admired the calmness I sensed in the four corners of Uncle Brew. They had a good design, honestly, and it amazed me how they produced such calmness through their interior. Some were already eating and enjoying their food, and the laugh stretched across tables. I was alone today in the cafe but not lonely. I prefer doing things myself to make sure no one interferes with my plan, and I am also obsessive about organizing things, so if someone interferes, I will develop hostility towards that person.   By the way, it was 5 in the afternoon when I visited the cafe, so minutes passed and some diners left the cafe in just a glimpse. I was grateful because I got to solo the cafe with no noise and just sipped my drinks while admiring the place.    I took a photo of my order as part of the rule—just kidding. Just by writing this and looking at the photos now makes me hungry and want to go back to the cafe again. Look how perfectly made my orders were—the waffles are in proportion, the price was coated accurately, and the drinks are as cold as the wind but sweeter than it. I had to take out the latte, but I removed it from the package for a photo opportunity.   While eating, I noticed everyone was gone. So I just continued scrolling on my phone to be entertained by my Instagram algorithm. I had fun even only with myself, and I feel great for being able to do it—that I am not afraid to be alone.  Hours passed, and I decided to go home. It was dark by the time I stepped outside the cafe, and the transition from air-conditioned to natural wind just startled me. When I looked again at the front, it gave me another version of the front view of the cafe. The lights were paid actors in the photo. Indeed, a sublime experience I had.     I just passed by this area and decided to walk for minutes and take photos. Then I searched for a tricycle that is on route to our barangay. That is all for this blog dearest Hivers!
