It’s a new week again, time to start creating a new Fan Art Entry for the Splinterlands Art Contest.
What I decided to draw and submit for this week is the Rebellion Edition Legendary Card belonging to the Water Element, Daarg Deadblast.
I was a bit puzzled at first why Daarg Deadblast is associated with the Water Element, as I’m used to water elements being related to water. Then I noticed he’s actually holding a water ball. I’m not sure if what I’m seeing is correct, so please correct me if I’m wrong.
Daarg Deadblast has a magic attack and an amazing Ability. Even at level 1, he already has 2 abilities: Weapons Training, which is one of my new favorite abilities, and Swiftness, which gives speed to his allies.
I’ve talked too much already, let’s go through how I drew this character.
Of course, the first step is to sketch out the form and pose.
Once I completed the draft, I darkened the outline and made it thicker, then erased any mistakes in the sketch.
Once the outline was okay, I started coloring our character. In the first stage of coloring, I kept it plain without any shading.
After that I gradient filled each part of the color.
After coloring everything, I added shading to our character and also added highlights to its colors.
After finishing with the character, I started working on the background. I created a basic backdrop for Daarg Deadblast, just adding ground and then applying a gradient fill in the background.
Here’s my final artwork. Thank you for visiting my post.
P.S. It's so fun playing Splinterlands but with my current deck i have which I am renting to own from @lvluplife(thanks to him) and also to Sir @mangomayhem, it is an all chaos bronze deck, its hard to rank up, so what i'm doing is enjoying brawl games, with this I still manage to enjoy playing.
thank you @Splinterlands!!!!
