About a week ago I went out with my wife to walk along a city avenue that is almost completely lit up for Christmas, and well, my wife took several photos because she really likes this Christmas atmosphere and its lights, while I wanted to take some photos of these light installations but with the difference that I applied a technique, which consists of a sweep applied with the camera lens.
I am not really an expert in this type of technique, I have done it about 5 times but on this occasion it was worth it as a practice and to see what results I could find from this session.
Of course the camera settings had to be adjusted for the lighting conditions, even though there are objects with a lot of light, the light entering the camera is not enough because in the end it was night, so I had to use an ISO range between 800 and 1600 and a shutter speed between 1/20 and 1/40, while the technique to do the light sweep was to focus the lens on the lights and quickly zoom out with the lens, in such a way that movement in the lights is generated. Maybe later I will return to that same place to practice this technique more as well as do some composition in the scenes.
All photographs are my own.
