Welcome to 417 Mix Collection: 25 Years of Springfield, Missouri's Underground DJ History
What started in 2000 as a small stack of DJ demo mix CDs from Springfield's Afterhours scene on the corner of Commercial & Campbell has grown into something far bigger. Over the years, we’ve collected everything from hand-burned CDs to MP3 downloads, full show recordings, and hundreds of DJ demos that have all spent entirely too long sitting untouched on hard drives.
In 2015, we found that Mixcloud could give us a way to share it all. Before the subscription model came along, we uploaded more than 500 mixes to Mixcloud, preserving the sounds of Springfield’s underground and bringing them back to the people, but the collection as a whole was still too tucked away from public view without a way to customize and organize everything.
Now, in 2025, the collection finally has a proper home. This site makes it easy to browse more than 25 years of local EDM history, featuring 153 DJs and 627 mixes (and counting), still powered by Mixcloud, and it is a delight to use on mobile devices. We’ve also resumed live show recordings and invite local DJs to submit their own Mixcloud accounts so their sets can be included in the collection. SoundCloud integration may also be coming soon.
You can browse by Mix, by DJ, by Genre, by Event (newest to oldest), and by Event Series (weeklies/monthlies).
