After a 12 year hiatus, I finally picked up a standalone DJ unit and started playing again. I first began in 2002 when I bought some turntables and played on vinyl. Then eventually switched to CDs and other digital means before throwing in the towel in early 2012. I still listned to EDM music on my own, but never really played out as a DJ again with the exception of a time in 2014 and again in 2015. Otherwise, I was retired. I started concentrating on other aspects of life, started a family, bought a house, etc etc etc. Now, after 12 years from the day I hung it up, I decided to buy an entry level standalone deck. A modest Numark unit.
I immediately got to work shopping for tracks and working up graphics to get my first mix demo in a dozen years recorded and posted. After about a month, "The Overview Effect" was the result, which I posted in October.
