I haven't posted anything for quite some time now. First, because of WoW - Wrath of the Lich King Classic which consumes a lot of time. Second I've been on a short vacation in Italy and third I've been bound to the bed for the last 4 days because of a nasty flu.
Now I hope I can come back with regular - hopefully - interesting or entertaining posts.
As for now, something different, not the best, but the currenty worst games on Steam. There is some really bad stuff in here :D
Sometimes, Steam reviews are not 100% objective and somtimes suffer from review-bombing of disappointed fans, but in these cases, the games are obviously pretty much garbage.
#5 Identity (22% positive)
Identity sells a dream: A huge sandbox where you can live the life you want to live with total freedom. So like in the real world, just with worse graphics and with an opt-out function. As on the roleplay servers of GTA Online, entire societies of players could have emerged here who keep their small town running in constant cooperation. Instead, Identity is a yawning emptiness.
Nobody is keeping this world alive anymore, not even the developers, who - according to the community's allegations - apparently quietly and secretly fled the dust while their Early Access project is still being offered for 25 euros. Logically, this makes the long-time supporters of the game anything but happy: There are lively allegations of scams on Steam.
#4 Spacebase DF-9 (18% positive)
Tim Schafer's Studio Double Fine is actually a well known name of small game development teams, which recently put a real masterpiece on the floor with Psychonauts 2. Also Brutal Legend has his fan base. But Spacebase DF-9 is a like a dirt stain on an otherwise white suite.
In the economy simulation, you direct the fortunes of a space station, organize the mining of asteroids, keep your society of aliens and humans running - but the finished game is an unfinished bug disaster. At least the 82 percent negative Steam reviews complain about this. Spacebase DF-9 dropped the Early Access label at some point, but actually never lost it.
#3 Flatout 3: Chaos & Destruction (15% positive)
Flatout was actually a respectable racing game series... but everything comes to an end Terrible game design meets lousy driving physics and the product is this game.
A game series that we used to enjoy on LAN parties (Flatout 1+2) only brings us frustration here. And it doesn't even look good.
#2 War of the Three Kingdoms (11% positive)
It's not that easy to find concrete information about War of the Three Kingdoms, because the game's Steam page is only in Chinese, as is the game, which you have to see as a money-making machine.
Three famous generals break through for free! Combining generals, identity, and card strategies, experience the authentic Three Kingdoms Killing!
-Yeah... thanks for nothing Google Translate
War of the Three Kingdoms is Free2Play at its worst: an actually really nice, free, exclusively Chinese card game that pulls money out of your pocket so heavily that even Diablo: Immortal seems like a charity project in comparison.
#1 Superpower 3 (9% positive)
Everyone deserves a second chance! Just because publisher THQ had to take the development of the disastrous "Die Gilde 3" away from the "GolemLabs" doesn't mean that the next project can't be a step in the right direction. Except for Superpower 3. With 91 percent negative reviews, the grand strategy game is less popular than real politics, and that IS an achievement!
To be honest, the idea und overall look doesn't seem to be that bad, but obviously the reality is something completely different. Tons of bugs, horrible usability and lack of content and quality seem to justify the #1 spot on this not so desireable list.
