🥇 Hiking in Death Valley. It's So Much More Than a Salty Depression! US Southwest Trip Day 9 [POL/ENG] by @klub-wloczykijow
Originally I had planned just a short stop in the Death Valley, California. But the more I read, the more I was convinced we would need two days for this vast and diverse National Park (it's the largest park in contiguous USA). Note - we hiked in April. I would not dare to leave a car for long in July.

🥈 Patara and the Sand Hill - Patara ve Kum Tepesi ( EN-TR) by @passenger777
If I crushed the sand in my hand like Aladdin's magic lamp and blew on it, could it transport me to a completely unknown land? Or what about this sand coalescing with the wind and transforming into a giant genie? You can consider these possibilities when you arrive at this vast desert plain. This week, I'll try to describe what I saw on a hilltop surrounded entirely by sand grains, reminiscent of a Sahara desert.

🥉 Exploring the Remote Alaska Peninsula National Wildlife Refuge by @dtam
Our kayakers and small boats hanging out with thousands of feeding sea birds with whales surfacing in between them. We were offshore from Castle Cape, taking advantage of some unusually calm offshore waters. One of the best parts of expedition cruising, is the amount of flexibility that you have to change the schedule and take advantage of opportunities as they present themselves. Earlier in the week we spontaneously canceled the evening presentation in order to load up our small boats and go skiffing in the middle of the ocean with fin whales. The sea conditions were so calm, and the whales so plentiful, that we had to take advantage.
